Note this looks to be being discontinued as Amazon no longer list the DMR102 and claim the DMR108 has replaced it, that said the DMR108 has been around for over a year. It's possible stores are starting to clear the DMR102 and other stores may well reduce.

Wish it were regulations, had a couple of young plasterers on site who insisted blasting out radio 1 after a few hours the radio went missing and miraculously reappeared in their van when the job was finished.

An AM/FM radio at this price is criminal.

That will explain why it's discontinued.
Also the audio from these is very bass-heavy.

A block of offices at the end of my road is being converted to 'luxury, prestigious' flats.
After an outcry from the locals, including me, the workers are banned from having any blaring music whatsoever.

Is the FM signal not due to be turned off sometime time soon? Just like they did with analogue TV.

I'm not a trades person so i wouldn't know how tough a radio needs to be but if you put an ordinary radio on the floor would it really stop working?
...there was a Bush DAB for £20 not that long ago. you could have 3 ordinary DAB radios and a pizza for the same price.

These are actually really useful to have (even around the house if you're doing anything big).
I got one that uses the same batteries as my drill/driver etc. It's not so much that a normal radio wont sing, but the buttons get jammed up with crap, among other things.
You can throw this across the room and cover it in plaster and it'll still work!

"I'm not a trades person so i wouldn't know ", you should have left it at that

I'm not sure what you contribute with that comment....but
..I was curious what others thought to using a normal radio

As well as the toughness, it's the ability to take the same batteries as your tools (if you have Makita, of course).
There's a DeWalt DAB one posted on here that's better (if you have DeWalt tools!) as it also accepts your phone input (possibly charged it too?) and has a protective compartment for it.

Don't forget you need a licence to play this in a work place at a cost of £000's!

A cost of £000's doesn't seem a bad price..

I've got one of these in the shed, got it in a house clearance.
Missing an antenna unfortunately, so looks really good with a length of wire hanging off it, until I find a replacement.
£72 is madness for a radio!
