I'll be quite honest, I'm not the techiest of people but son seems to think this is a decent offer & he is a bit more aware than me (he can work the blu-ray). Was posted a few weeks back at £119.99 & is now down to £99.99 C+C & you get a free £5 gift voucher back (take it over £100 & get £10 gift voucher).

The Lenovo Tablet is ideal for on-the-go multimedia. Take your movies, music and gaming with you and enjoy them on the HD wide-view 10.1" screen, with immersive Dolby Atmos cinematic moving audio. Wherever you are, never be disconnected with this powerful yet affordable entertainment centre

Just be aware this isn't a full "HD" screen – the descriptions can be misleading. Resolution of 1280 x 800 on a 10.1" screen results in a relatively low pixel density, thus it won't be the sharpest screen. However, it means the battery will last longer. Swings and roundabouts.

anyone can comment on battery on these ? my kids mainly play minecraft and their fired hd 7 - I assume this will be better on battery ?
welshy81 to rudy691
23 Aug 17 #3
10 hours battery under specs so it should be good for at least 6-7 hours
lromj to rudy691
23 Aug 17 #4
Amazon apparently estimates 8 hours of battery life on the Fire HD 7 but you'd get closer to 6–7 hours if playing a game like minecraft. Argos estimate 10 hours of battery life on the Lenovo Tab 3. The above tablet does appear to have a larger battery size (7000mah) compared to the Kindle so it should be better on battery theoretically by a couple of hours

If paying for it in-store, buy a 5p carrier bag
77andyb to sjs31
23 Aug 17 #16
This definitely works. Reserved online but paid in store on machine. Asks if you want a bag, just add 5p one.
Pateo to 77andyb

I wonder if the manned checkout staff will allow you to add carrier bag to be eligible for voucher?
77andyb to Pateo
24 Aug 17 #23
I really don't know, but if you're going to pay by card anyway and you have internet access, why not just reserve online (you have until closing time the next day to collect I think) and pay in store at one of the terminals? I'd understand why not if you want to pay cash though.
Pateo to 77andyb
24 Aug 17 #24
Reason I was putting the question is because my local Argos only have manned checkout, no self service terminals! Actually I may go for the Argos eBay refurbished one!

The refurb model is Model number: TB-X103F This one is Model number: za1u0002gb.
Any one know if there is any difference ???
77andyb to mattygc2004
24 Aug 17 #41
I don't know if this helps, but on the front of the box of the new one I bought from Argos, it says TB-X103F, but on the back above one of the barcodes, it says ZA1U0002GB. So I'd guess they're the same, one is the model number and I'm not sure what the other is! But mine displays both numbers in different places. Best guess, someone wasn't sure which of the many numbers that appear on the label on the back with various numbers was actually the model number, and took a guess.

Strange ... it worked for '77andyb' - although he paid for it at a machine in-store, rather than going to a cashier. Perhaps the cashier was being "difficult" !

On a drive back from West Sussex to Manchester my son watched films on this all the way home and the battery lasted so for me this is a great battery life considering traffic and a few pitstops we drove for over 7 hours.

The battery is crap. It's heavy. Make sure you buy a decent case where the volume buttons are exposed otherwise the volume will be up and down due to stupidly positioned buttons. And yes i have one.

23 Aug 17 #18
Quick question for someone that has one, what's the max capacity MicroSD card this device can take? I'm seeing conflicting info in different places. Argos site says 16GB is expandable up to 64GB with a microSD. So will it take a 64GB card, or if, as stated, you can expand storage 'up to' 64GB, does that include the 16GB already on board? that would mean having to use a 48GB card, which I've never come across before, so is a 32GB card the largest the device can take?
orhanftw to 77andyb

Can take a 64GB card.

24 Aug 17 #28
Battery is fine on mine and I wouldn't call it heavy. I also bought a case for it which is made FOR that very tablet and it leaves plenty of room for the volume button. They're not stupidly positioned.

Regarding getting the cost over £100 to get the £10 voucher, I can confirm that the cost of a carrier bag does count towards the total. I reserved the tablet online (didn't pay in advance). Went to local store (Netherfield, Nottingham), and went to the machine to pay. Machine asks if you need any carrier bags, so just selected one at 5p, total payment £100.04. Item arrived at collection point, £10 voucher shows at bottom of receipt. Watch out for the expiration date though, it's only got about a month on it. If anyone is interested, this tablet is still on the Argos eBay page, refurbished model for £74.99 (Link) . Was torn for a bit but decided to go with new instead.

Thanks for posting, I mulled this over last time it was on at this price, and it went back up to £119.99. Figured it would come down again at some point. Heat added. Would just like to find a decent case with integrated keyboard now, so off to eBay it is. If anyone can recommend anything I'd appreciate it.

Looks like a great deal and good size screen. Does anyone know if this is able to use Netflix offline? i.e. Download shows to watch on the go? Thanks
niall1234 to craigw22
24 Aug 17 #30
Yeah you can use the Netflix app to download movies on the go. Just make sure to add a micro SD card as the movies can take up quite a lot of space.
craigw22 to niall1234
24 Aug 17 #42
Thanks for your response! Is this definitely possible? And what's the quality like of downloaded Netflix stuff on this device? I don't mean to sound so skeptical but this would be the main reason I'd purchase this device, and it doesn't state this tablet is compatible on the Netflix website (although saying that it doesn't say my Lenovo P2 phone is either and it works flawlessly). Any chance you could upload a pic of the downloaded shows on Netflix in action on this tablet?

I was thinking the same, looks like the heat may be for its size of screen rather than the specs.
alg to jaydeeuk1
29 Aug 17 #63
There never was Nexus 7 2014 - it was a 2013 model. Which just makes it even sadder.

I would love to replace mine, as it is now starting to show it's ago, but there really aren't many sub-£200 tablets that are any better, even after 4 years, on the UK market. The one exception I can think of is the Nvidia Shield.
ela_vips
24 Aug 17 #44
I've one of these and I think it's decent tablet for the price. However, display is not full HD and there is a considerable quality drop when compared to my old Toshiba full HD tablet which I bought couple of years ago (for £150). Unfortunately I couldn't find a decent full HD tablet under £150, so settled with this one. 2GB memory is good enough and I'm playing clash of clans mostly and battery last for about 2-3 days (for 2-3 hours daily use).
Hope this is helpful to someone. Voted hot!

So I've just bought one of these as a refurb from Argos and its locked to a previous owners account. Whilst its been reset it won't let me log in and set up unless I enter previous owners credentials. So much for refurbished. Does anyone know how to get round this or do I need to sent it back?
matthewcross2 to rincage

When you power up hold power and volume up or down ( Google would help ) it would give u a factory reset option. My refurb was spot and and Argos would help if u ask
alg to rincage
29 Aug 17 #61
From that description, it sounds like the previous owner enabled encryption - even after a factory reset, it will require the same username and password to decrypt/accept the reset.

Samsung devices with Knox behave in a similar method, which, while making it more secure, can cause issues with the 2nd hand market.

This is the low spec non HD model with 1.3 GHz processor. Earlier in the year I got the Tab2 HD 1.7 GHz for £120 (currently ridiculously £199.99 so probably the next 1/2 price offer) when they were selling the Tab2 non HD for £99.99. May be worth waiting for the Tab2 HD or the Tab3 HD to come down (or even the Tab4).

I have one of these, quite responsive, decent screen and good battery life. I use for Netflix/Amazon video, perfectly good for that. Not a top spec Ipad thats for sure but it is £100
alg to br4804
29 Aug 17 #62
I agree - my wife got one to replace an older version with 1GB RAM. The extra RAM makes the difference.

As long as you're not expecting high performance gaming, the device has decent battery life, is solidly built, and for most people doing Facebook, e-mail, Netflix etc, it's absolutely fine for the money.

I wouldn't recommend buying this Lenovo tablet. I have one and it started playing up just after the 1 year guarantee had passed. The keyboard sometimes started jumping up and down at the bottom of the screen, whether you're trying to type or just reading, which is really annoying. It sometimes won't turn on, the brightness of the screen can't be turned down anymore which hurts my eyes after a while and the volume is very temperamental. Also the battery doesn't last long, but takes hours to charge. Lastly, it sometimes reboots itself randomly for no reason. This was my first and last Lenovo purchase.

6.0.1. I've done a hard reset, and it's slightly better, but still judders at maximum brightness. Been googling, and a lot of these appear to have screen problems, so think I'll probably return.
