You can't play music on echo dot then why would you connect this to echo dot

To play music... from an Echo dot... I'm unsure how any part of that is unclear.

What do you do with echo dot and why do need to connect a speaker
I use my echo dot mainly for internet radio and to play music. The speaker that already comes with it is ok but obviously sounds better when paired with a Bluetooth speaker.

I'm with Amazon prime that comes with 2 million songs, also I can play music off my playlists or listen music off the radio.

I would be pleased if you could answer what might be a silly question, when listening to the radio eg BBC radio 4 ,how do you get it to link to radio 4,is it as simple as just asking the Dot to find radio 4?my current Revo internet receiver needs £50 plus of repairs and I wonder if the Dot would be a cheaper replacement for use in Turkey, thanks for your time and any advice you can give, cheer Chris

If you want to buy an echo dot for a little bit cheaper then buy one off eBay. I bought 3 on prime day for £75, I kept one, gave one away and sold the third one on eBay for £43.

Thanks for that,I have a £20 credit on Amazon at the moment so will hope Black friday might bring a bargain from them,or even the Bank holiday coming up.
Thanks for update re price reduction,I had already spotted the extra £5 off,and ordered one from Amazon, which should arrive today,so with the £20 credit I had and an extra £5 they had given me for an unfilled deal ,plus the £5 reduction,it meant my outlay was £19.99,so very happy, looking forward to getting Radio 4 again in Istanbul.

General question about using a portable bluetooth speaker with an echo dot: Do you have to leave the speaker plugged in, or recharge it periodically? If latter... more trouble than it's worth for me.

My Kitsound Hive 2 has 12 hours of playback after a full charge. You only need to pair the speaker to the echo dot once. You can run the speaker and with the echo dot off the mains with something like this click.

Or a cheaper option use something like this: Click Here
Just state Alexa play radio 4, no subscription is required.
I leave my Hive speaker constantly plugged into the mains and also plugged directly into my Dot using the aux cable (it then saves the hassle of keep charging it up. For a fiver this works a treat for me.
I got one the first time around and wished I'd bought another after seeing how good it was, so been keeping an eye out when I saw them listed again I bought a further one for the Dot I've got upstairs.
