I've seen the classic as low as £150 brand new. Artisan is the better model and is over £300

Unfortunately the Classic is the lesser powered engine model, and the smallest of the 3 KitchenAid mixer models... usual sit around the £250 brand new mark, but have been on here at £150ish before. You need to wonder what was refurbished on these, because the motors and build quality are generally quite sound.

I think they may be returns that haven't sold in shops or customer returns that are checked and reboxed.

Most common on the Kitchenaid mixers is the sacrificial nylon gear and sometimes speed controllers and motor brushes

The classic is fine. It's the model that's been around for pretty much 90years. The artisan just comes in lots of colours and has a couple of spec bumps to excuse the added expense. Believe me, get a classic. It's idiot powerful and will go for ever.
