You don't need a gyro for Pokemon Go, you only need a gyro for the AR mode, which no one I know plays with anyway as it just slows things up, makes Pokemon harder to catch and kills battery life.
My wife ran PoGo on her Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 from US launch of the game until about a month ago with no issues and it has no gyro. I still occasionally use that old phone as a spare for it too.
Also doesnt have otg support, probably not a deal breaker for most. Ok phone preferred the smart ultra 6.

Could be worse, you could have had something older, like Ice Cream Sandwich which means forget about external storage. or something too new with many bugs. M came oout in 2015, enough time to mature and fix bugs.

Just to add. These Huawei phones have really good antennas.
I've compared many phones side by side with the same network and where other phones have no network the huawei does.

Because it's not the SAR value alone you should be concerned with. Even the FCC said that the SAR rating isn't really a relevent measurement of radiation.
Matt356
20 Aug 17#59
Not sure if anyone cares, but SAR values for this smartphone are through the roof.

SAR values are completely meaningless.

I know it would seem a foolish statement even 12 months ago but these days 16GB isn't really enough if you use your phone for anything more than texting and calling. A similar outlay for the Redmi Note 4 Global 4GB RAM/64GB ROM. It's not like you are getting a warranty with the Huawei either, is it?
Its not difficult you set the phone up as normal then you switch storage to SD card before installing any apps ..I have a 32Gb card and its plenty probably have about 30 apps and quite a few albums on Google music not everyone needs 64Gig plus an SD card its horses for courses and yes I do have a huawei warranty ...still never needed it though plus I don't want a 5.5" screen either had an SU6 and a cubot dinosaur too big for my needs

15 Aug 17#22
With regards to the Huawei warranty I was talking about if you buy from Gearbest there won't be a warranty, I probably didn't make it clear, apologies.

Almost exactly what I thought!!! 3GB/32GB version is still better, yet at least £20 cheaper & as you say the 4GB/64GB version is about the same. Loads of sellers on AE (difficult to get 4GB at right price in anything other than gold). BG have black 4GB at $188.99, but only able to request stock alerts (likely to be a long wait).
That has good prices on all 3 clours. Starting at around £110 for gold.
EDIT: I would go via TCB & search note 4 global.

I forgot to ask also, what's wrong with a Gold Phone?.
The P9 Lite is a metallic Phone, so a Gold colour for this baby would look kinda pretty HOT? (as I'd assume most metallic Gold Phone's to look too?). :-)

Nothing if you like that kind of thing (e.g. kids, bling blingers or pimps)! : )
For me on the N4(X) it is the fact the front is white (never got white phones). Otherwise a gold back with a black/grey front would be fine (stick it in a case and hope it never fell out)! : )

It's way cheaper than a UK-sourced one, I guess it boils down to how much you believe a warranty to be worth. I've had countless mobiles (too many to list) and not one has malfunctioned in its first 12 months/the time I've had it.

I have this phone , battery doesn't last me all day but I use it a lot , no Nougat on it yet , I store apps on my SD card so memory is plenty , I use airplane mode to reduce charge time , all in all its a very competant phone feels premium to the touch good camera but one thing to note huawei factory fit screen protectors to thier phones Do Not remove it unless its broken as the screen will feel horrible to the touch if you do

I'm just going off my honor 7 that has a 3100mah battery and I don't even get 3/4 of a day out of it and can't say that I abuse it really. Checking the specs of the two I can't see that much of an improvement to make me want the supposed upgrade to the p9.

Don't be put off by the battery life on this phone. It's one of the best I've had.
It's either the processor or the software that's efficient or a combination of both.
It can easily last a day of heavy use or 2 days or more of moderate use.
I've owned Samsung Galaxy S7 and currently own Oneplus 3T and they both have bigger battery but sadly doesn't come close to it

i have this exact model since july 2016. It's a fantastic smartphone, with premium quality materials and assembly. At this price it's a really good deal IMHO.
Among the already signaled caveats (no gyro, no 5Mhz WiFi) i'd consider the GPU unit, that's not exactly a "beast": if you're into heavy mobile gaming the graphics performances - albeit absolutely acceptable - could be disappointing.

I don't understand how Gearbest deals are allowed to be posted without including VAT and duty for items coming from China. They have a button to click labelled 'Tax Info' which pops up this: "ALL prices listed on GearBest exclude taxes, import fees, and customs duties. Customers may be subject to these fees." So, if your item is stopped during shipping you'll be charged VAT at 20% (£27.66 for this item) and, because the item is over £135, you'll be charged customs duty at 2.5% (£3.46 for this item). The courier may also claim a handling fee for dealing with customs for you (lets say £8).
So for this item the price quoted above is excluding about £40 that you might be forced to pay before your item gets to you. Is £138 a good price for this phone? Yes. Is £178? I don't know but it seems wrong to me to ignore the VAT, duty and admin fees.
