Now I'm not the world's best for knowing too much about laptops, but I've been looking at getting a new laptop for a while now (and due to my Argos card being clear preferably from them).
I've been looking at this and the other omen laptop on Argos for £699.99 ( argos.co.uk/pro…823 ) and they've pretty much over night been reduced by £100.
If any one knows any further reductions for Argos ill do my best to keep this updated to whatever the best price is that we can work out, but for what id like to call a good spec laptop with dedicated graphics, id say its pretty good

I bought this laptop about 3/4 months ago when it had the Xbox Elite controller for free.
Good laptop, although don't expect it to play games without turning down a lot of settings.

For a gaming laptop costing £800 or more, I would now expect a 1050ti as a minimum.

Agreed. Although, the cheapest 1050ti available now is around 850 from pc specialists if you don't need an OS. You get for this price a 1080p IPS screen, i7 7700HQ, 12gb ddr4 ram (I'm on a budget), 4gb 1050ti, 500gb hd, 128 ssd.

It's not a bad spec but tbh for this pricing I would be looking at the Dell outlet and getting a lot more for similar money or less...

I think Dell has lost their way. They don't sell any laptop setting that makes sense e.g. do not have ssd + hdd (you have to choose), good gpu but bad for the rest (or vice versa), thick like a brick, price are not cheap either for their specs. I think hp omen really hit the gaming laptop range at the moment, and Asus seems to follow suit (although I don't trust asus brand for laptop)

Nope, GTX1050 is too weak. If you want a cheap and small Oculus rig:
How is this a deal compared to the Argos one? The only difference I see is the 128GB SSD and Kaby Lake CPU.
I'd rather save £130 and pay £699 for the Argos one if I was after an Omen (not that I would be as the screen is crap and the keyboard so hot as to give you sweaty hands).

Again this version without 128gb SSD. For the extra £25 you might aswell buy from Argos and get the SSD. Cuts down load times massively.

I watch these high power laptop deals come up on here and I'm tempted but they always get shot down by OP. I'm not a gamer but i do use Photoshop and stuff like that. For £700 what do I need to be on the shipping list. I apologise if this post should go else where but it seems a lot of experts comment on these type deals. cheers

for content creators you would need a better, more colour accurate monitor then most laptops can offer. I would suggest a decent spec PC and choose the monitor that suits best

But as a side note, these Omen laptops come with very good IPS displays compared to most others. 92% of sRGB coverage.
The main issue with these screens on the Omen is the high response times, especially GTG. There will be a noticeable blurriness to fast moving images. They're very similar to the base 1080p screens that dell use on the Alienware 15", and I had to send mine back because of it.
Wound up speccing my own on PC Specialist and can't complain one bit. Similar price, but comes with a 1050ti instead, and you can save £50 for a 1050 version instead which comes with 4GB GDDR5 as opposed to the 2GB that comes with the Omen.
The difference in response times can be as high as 15ms GTG less than the Omen too, which makes a big difference. This Pc Specialist screen is more in line with the Acer V Nitro it replaced, which had an excellent but somewhat inaccurate display.

I like how they are pushing 750, 850 & 1050 as gaming. Not even the Ti. The 1050 will be great for now, but it won't last long in terms of performance. Why do you think they sell another 5 cards that are more powerful if a 1050 is "just fine".

So people can play at higher resolutions/higher refresh rate monitors. 1070s/1080(ti) aren't needed to game at 1080p/60, which is the screen this laptop has.

Code OMENONE takes it down to £799
Good laptop, although don't expect it to play games without turning down a lot of settings.
CPU is around 20% faster
GPU is around 92% faster
