Just seen 3 of these in my local Aldi. Seem a bargain at this price, especially for caravaners/campers.

Depends on your meaning - if you mean finding in store, then maybe. If you mean finding a satellite, iirc, this includes a satellite locator.

phoned four local stores near me, without any success, good if you can find one, i have noticed every aldi store is different in the amount they reduce or even if they have reduced.

Yep agreed. I've just been to the Netherton store in Liverpool and they have reduced them to £14.99 now. I wasn't going to get one but couldn't refuse at that price. Still 3 left for anyone in the area.

You can't watch Sky without a Sky receiver. This receiver will let you watch free to view channels.

FYP (Free-to-view needs a Sky card).

If you're referring to all the FTA 'Free to Air' channels on sky, then you dont need a card at all. Ive been using an old sky box for this for years without any card in the slot Heres a list of all the channels you should get >> en.wikipedia.org/wik…8°E

FTA = Free To Air = no viewing card needed FTV = Free To View = Sky card needed (can be disconnected / no subscription).

I guessed someone was going to pick up on 'incorrect' terminology though it's moot, considering the receiver won't accept a Sky viewing card.

Is this on their site?, I can't find it. I asked someone to check our local and the manager said it was on-line.
For £15-20 it's worth a shot to have a play a round with.

How do I launch it, and is it capable of a geostationary orbit?

Looks like a bargain for the price.
Being a generic (not official freesat) receiver you will probably get a jumbled list of channels and no proper epg, just a now and next if you are lucky.
However you should get most of the freeview channels and point it at the foreign satellites and you can watch german tv and other countries and improve you languages. Bargain for £15 if you can find one...
