Help!
Ours came and we set it up and its fantastic. BUT we uninstalled Netflix as won't need it but there is still a large Netflix button on the home page. We can't see how to alter home page as really want a big Kodi button instead of the Netflix one. Can't see how to customise the home page at all. Would love some help please :-

If you are talking about the launcher screen then and one of it's static buttons then you would need to unpack and modify the launcher app, which is not a 5 minute job.

Yes i got an email a couple of days ago saying it has been shipped. They send you a tracking number so you can keep an eye Just waiting for it to arrive now.

They can sometimes be slower than expected,so chase them up if it has been a few days.

This particular deal does state 72 hour shipping on their site.

Also, when a tracking number is provided it can take around 3-4 days for it to appear on a tracking site, so a little waiting is required as it is peocessed through the local travel routes before leaving China.

There will sometimes be OTA updates availalable from either an app that they supply or from one of the options in settings.

Nice box, I have two. With several hardware mods this box runs great. Beware of the poor ventilation issues when running HD/4K. As others have stated there are many firmwares available which are regularly updated. Check out the extra 2 hidden USB ports however they have to be exposed by cutting out the case.
Runs games well also.

You can certainly connect an external hard drive to it and use Plex.

I don;t know how far the full Plex functionality will extend but that is best asked on the Plex forums.

It's more powerful, it has better support, it's more future proof and has more features.

No HDR on the Fire and the Shield supports more HD audio formats, so when thinking of no compromise, the Shield has to be the one to think of.

Terrarium, Showbox and Mobdro have made me not touch Kodi for months, everytime I go back to try Kodi it's a sh!TF£st. Mobdro has caused issues recently but I installed Hola VPN app and launch Mobdro within the Hola VPN app and have Canada set a the location.

I always hear people mentioning Kodi how it's not that hard to use etc, they're right it's not hard to use, but it's still a piece of crap in comparison to the above apps.

If Mobdro fails for live streams or doesn't have what I want, then I'll use various stream subs from Reddit.

If you want to run RetroArch there's a plugin for S905, there isn't one yet for S912 that I know of. What I'm alluding to is that S912 whilst more powerful can have a bit less software support.

Ignoring the gaming aspect, why do you think the Nvidia Shield is so much better than the Amazon Fire TV 4k.

Kodi, about as reliable and as useful as a one armed Arab.

Well for one this is a company that is happy to use the free work of others to build their own software and make money off the back of it but then removes links to it on their site, citing such rubbish as "Unfortunately there have been a number of dishonest sellers using our name to sell often inferior products.
Try asking them for the source code for their Kodi fork, which you are legally entitled to and watch them refuse.

What's wrong with the company? I've heard nothing but good things about them. You know something i don't? lol

Kodi running on Android boxes do take maintenance, the pulse build keeps breaking, doesn't update properly (I am told ;-)) and they start to slow down. OK if you know what you are doing but otherwise avoid. Libreelec is better if you can be bothered to set it up, but then you can't use youtube and other apps on your box (but can be overcome as there is a way of having both android and libreelec on it - dual booting). If you like a bit of tinkering then it's all good, but these certainly are not a "set and forget" type of devices.

Why else do you think are the likes of Netflix (FireTV), Amazon et al so popular?

Should i get this box or the DroidBOX iMXQPro V2? DroidBOX are a UK company and seem to update the boxes quite often.

I would be wary of buying from them,there seems to be endless iptv configurations with very little detail of what you are getting, also the very real possibility of customs/admin charges.

You're relying on third-party developers to maintain and make a stable plugin. I still stand on the fact Kodi is in no way hard to use. If it's hard to use, you're using it wrong

Its exactly the same app but someone has patched it to not show ads

I agree mate, the apps are constantly evolving/changing getting deleted. I have been using Kodi since its xbmc days. Constantly having to fix them when they go wrong for family friends etc, Kodi is an anoraks dream, all that tinkering about

I can imagine those who find kodi difficult to work are those who's mates have told them down the pub about this magical box that gives you "free sky".

Thats simply not true, I have used it for years and it can be a pain when some of your plugins suddenly stop working.

I installed the Terrarium add free version a couple of months back, so much user friendly than kodi (google it), no need for real debrid as the sources are always up. (although could change in the future)

Why is this voter hot? Crappy Chinese rubbish and the remote controls are awful. Spend the extra and get an Amazon Fire TV. Don't compromise.

Kodi is hard to work. So many plug in's or add on you have to do. Youtube how to cast cartoon hd or moviehd to chromecast and this will sort your tv and film needs

The Terrarium TV app has replace kodi in our house so much more stable and just works! No messing around with sources.

You can get similar boxes on AliExpress with a year iptv for this price!

Yup, after the recent tvaddons collapse, I've gone round the house doing fresh installs of plain Kodi and added only the addons I need.

Easy and so easy to use.
