Went into Superdrug (Dewsbury) and came across these Gillette Fusion Proglide Flexball Men's Razor for the princely sum of £2.97 I bought 2. which is a considerable saving on the RRP. Could be National or store specific I don't know. Took Photo of actual Item.

Gillette are getting so short of ideas on what to add to their razors to justify the price, I predict a bluetooth enabled version in the near future.

Entertainment? if anyone is entertained by shaving I suggest they go and see a shrink. An absolute mundane daily chore for any human surely?
........... and after watching a few of his videos you might convert to safety razor double edged shaving and save a ton of money in the process .........

I already save a tonne of money, I use Lidl's finest twin blade, a Wilkinson Sword shaving brush and a bar of soap.
It isnt JUST the cost of the blades, they are designed with the blades so close together, they clog up with dead skin and feel blunt after only a couple of uses - so you throw them away.
They also charge a fortune for unnecessary shaving gels, foams and oils; a bar of moisturising soap and a decent shaving brush does just the same job for a fraction of the cost.
I never suffer razor burn these days, I ALWAYS got razor burn using the gels, foams and oils.

Although I'm a big fan of proglide, and get it lasting for weeks with a quick rub of the blade (the safe way!) down my legs when it's feeling a little clogged, what I do agree with in your post is shaving soap. Best shave ever, and lasts for months. The Kent one sold by John Lewis seems particularly good for shaving and good for value to me.

I use a bar of Lidl's "Cien" soap, but whatever floats your boat.
What I have found is that - with the 4+ blade razors, you HAVE to use the gels, as soap clogs them up before you can even finish a shave; which is why I went back to a twin blade, as even King Of Shaves gave me razor burn.

Actually, when my son was four, he loved the idea of shaving, so I adapted a razor head (took the blades out, but left the rubber strip, and wrapped some coloured tape around the handle - so he knew which was his razor), so he could shave alongside me in the mornings.

Surely at some point Gillette will release a DE razor again. They perfected the DE's with their adjustable range. They could quite easily charge a fortune for the razor and make a change to the DE blade so only their blades fit the razor.
Anyway I hope they don't you can't beat a 2017 sputnik blade.
