I'd rather have a Vega 64 to play Destiny 2. It's the future.
On a more serious note. Decent deal including the free game. I think I bought my 1080 on the one day they didn't give away destiny 2.

Be careful with the Destiny 2 code, you only have a short timescale to redeem it, I had issues redeeming to my account and support was looking into he issue when the code expired, nothing they can do I was told.

Try harder. I'm sure you can get your code if you push.

terrible mining performance... looks like a good gaming card - just don't expect to mine to make back your investment in the PC idle time

Hold steady gamers, the mining bubble will burst eventually, then you will see prices tumble to a normal level away from these fantasy prices, so don't give in my gaming brethren, hold strong and true, and remember, the more that hold out, the bigger they will drop..........:)

They'll drop definitely - but when is an unknown. These cards aren't any better than 1060's for mining and graphics RAM prices are raising. This card in particular has only been £10 cheaper on CamelCamelCamel. When prices stabilise the 1070 definitely will be the better buy though!

When it goes it'll go BIG TIME. You don't buy one card for mining and expect to get your money back as an investment, unless of course you run it constantly on somebody else's electricity....

GTX 1080's have not been affected by mining in any meaningful way. Cards below have, but not 1080's or 1080ti's. This is one of the lowest prices I have seen for 1080's, with the exception of a Palit Jetstream 1080 a few months ago for £450.

there's a reason for that the 1080 mines significantly worse than 1070 (20Mh/s on 1080 vs 27Mh/s on 1070), and 1080Ti mines only slightly better than 1070 (I'm getting 35MH/s) For miners the choice is obvious - 1070 For gamers who want the highest end but also mining in downtime - 1080Ti. 4K60 & decent mining to ROI your card in ~8-12 months after electric costs For gamers who are a bit late to the party, you could go for 1080... but it's aging poorly. It will obviously never hit 4K60 and 4K30 isn't all that appealing anymore since Xbox One X is claiming locked 4K30 on med textures. As game engine and texture rendering progress toward photorealism, the 1080 will be left in the dust. To be fair, it was released some 14 months ago.
Some mining outfits were using 1080ti's for zcash mining as the performance is better.

I always wonder how people who are always waiting in pc threads ever actually buy anything.
There is always a price cut or a new product around the corner, buy it and you will have made the difference up in enjoyment and usage by the time the next price decrease happens.

Chill people, my money is nice and safe in my wallet, it is happy there until the day comes, do not worry about it. lol
And just so you know there is no way i would spend £400/£500 to upgrade from a GTX970, the bang for buck is not there at present...i got a I7 core, a GTX970 OC and i can run almost everything at ultra with say AF and AA off, or high with everything on, and rift vr games run great, so it would be mad to spend so much just for what, some extra FPS.......i will eventually, but when i see value for money, and at present these cards are not offering me value for money.
