Here is a nice little break to Amsterdam, staying in a central accommodation, which is also a boat hotel and ideally places you for exploring the city.

I've stayed on the botel, its fine, but slightly out of the way, as you need to get the free boat across to central station, and the breakfast is English and continental.

Saved me having to point out the Botel is not centrally located. If memory serves, I think the boats from there may stop running around midnight...

Yes, its a short ferry, but conveniently placed and quite a nice journey. We met friends here when in Amsterdam as we were staying elsewhere. I was a little jealous of the boat hotel, it looked lovely!

I'm working on the NDSMwerf side of the river now. Ferry is every 15mins during mon-fri rush hour and every 30 mins after that and weekends. And yes they stop at 23:30/00:00

The ferry stopping between midnight and 7am isn't a problem. The boat hotel website states "The NDSM-ferry doesn’t operate at night. You then take the 24 hour Buiksloterwegveer. Our complimentary shuttle bus operates between the Botel and the ferry". Its also mentioned by quite a few people on TripAdvisor reviews.
I think the location is perfect and best of all its free to get too and from your hotel, not a tram journey away.
I have used their shuttle bus after the ferry stops. One of the scariest car journeys I have had. The guy drove flat out the whole way back to the hotel.
Opening post
The dates are on 26-28th November.
