Now I really do fancy this trip myself and the flights alone are such a bargain as I'd normally expect to see flights alone upwards of £500pp. The Bahamas is expensive, but I've picked some great accommodation options too, its not the cheapest but it is all accommodation that has good reviews and is rated highly. If you wanted to reduce the price you could easily stay in more budget options but I think this is excellent value for a varied trip. I also think if you're looking for a honeymoon too this could be a nice option.
11-14 April You will fly from London to Toronto direct and pick up the hire car. In Toronto you will stay for 3 nights which I think is enough time to explore the city. You will stay in the highly rated Avalon guesthouse which has good reviews and is centrally located but as you have a hire car you can head further out of the city if you wish.
14-15 April You will drive to Niagara falls today. Its under a 2 hr drive and you will stay overnight in a nearby motel, so you can explore the falls and park at your leisure.
15-16 April As you depart early in the morning on 16th, you will head back to Toronto at leisure and overnight close to the airport.
16-22 April On 16th, you will fly early morning to Nassau in the Bahamas. You will spend 6 nights in Nassau in the Ocean West Boutique hotel in a pool and ocean view room for 6 nights. You could also use this as an opportunity to do day trips to surrounding islands as well.
22-25 April On 22nd you will fly to Georgetown/Exuma where you will spend 3 nights. You can take the ferry but is is longer and reviews indicate the journey is not so comfortable so the short flight is probably better. In Exuma you will stay at your own apartment. In Exhuma you can visit the swimming pigs and also snorkel in the area made famous in James Bond. Thunderball.
On 25th you'll fly back to Nassau and onward for your journey back to the uk.

By booking flights, accomodation and car separately doesn't that mean if one of these is cancelled/delayed/rescheduled, you are not covered and will need to reschedule the other parts of the holiday at your own cost - especially that the hotel which costs over 1 grand does not have free cancellation if it's less than 1 month from the booking date. My opinion is this is OK for short haul holidays which don't cost a lot but for a holiday costing over 3 grand, is it worth the risk? And is there any travel insurance that will cover you for these mishaps?

I've got an annual policy with LV and have always booked elements of my trip separately, which has included travelling worldwide. When I went to Antarctica, I booked my own flights from the UK to Argentina, the cruise was separate, then my outgoing flight after the cruise to Chile all DIY. I've never had any issues at all and I will always book this way.

Well done for the effort but it's a very specific trip and has many elements where any of them could impact on the whole trip if anything went wrong. Having been to the Bahamas, it's not somewhere I would recommend . Never felt comfortable there.

A pretty weird trip; I can't imagine anyone would actually do this. I've heard that Toronto is nice but not really representative of the rest of Canada.
And then the Bahamas? All the places you could visit after Toronto and you choose the Bahamas? In Europe we have many places we can visit for a bit of sun, no need to go all the way there.
There's also a lot of travelling here. Hardly a relaxing holiday. Go to Toronto, hire a car and visit Montreal. See real Canada.

I've done it both ways. Sometimes I book separately and sometimes a package. I don't mind lots of travelling in a holiday, but then I've never been one for sitting by the pool. I haven't been on holiday this year so gearing up for something quite big special next year. At the moment I'm fancying Vietnam or a safari. It will be an organised tour though as it will be me and my son and he would not cope if anything went wrong.

Vietnam is so easy to do DIY, and cheap! You most certainly do not need a tour. You can get tours when you are there, or book in advance with a local agent. I was there at Christmas so if you need any help let me know.
Safari wise I have a contact in Kenya we used and we did a 4 day safari to Tsavo East and West and Amboseli and picked all our own accommodation, and had the most amazing private driver, no landrovers packed with lots of other tourists. If you want some details PM me.

Thanks for that. I'll bear that in mind. Got to get son and heir on board first. He has autism and he has to know in advance exactly what is going to happen which is why I was looking at getting the travel agent to do it. So much easier if I can present him with an itinerary.
