Quicker for me to send back that way, rather than wait for Samsung to send me the recycle pack. Postage for free wasnt insured on the self ship option so I sent via royal mail special delivery. Cost of that option was £7.25 but I can send from work for free and not pay (perks of the role!).
I only sent the phone back for anyone else reading. No need to send back any accessories.

I'm in the same boat. £689 from argos, £10 voucher back, £225 for my S6 and 8% off the handset cost using a reloadable argos giftcard discount is the best I can come up with.
I know I could get the S8 from amazon for about £550 but I would only get £125 for my phone and the amazon one is from a third party seller so could be a grey import, etc.
Sharpharp
7y 30d#90
I'm doing the maths to get the upfront price as low as possible. So far, no free charger (o2 deal only), Quidco/tcb is 1% only on home/fastrack. There are gift vouchers, £10 back from Argos at the moment, but I still can't justify paying £689 for the S8, especially given it's around £540 on Amazon etc and you can get the S8+ for £629.....
I've got a collection of other discounts which I've built up, but there must be other ways to get this pathetic RRP price down from Argos before the promotion ends.

Hi sjo1993,
I'm quite interested in this and you've been a great help. I wonder if you can answer my question
I'm a little confused about the logistics of trading in to Samsung recycle and buying direct from samsung. My biggest concern is being left without a phone whilst I wait for the voucher to be issued after sending in my current device - as I presume the voucher will not be issued until they have the device, have verified its condition and have proceeded with the buying transaction - is this a correct assumption?
Whats the url to the samsung recycle website? cant find it on google

HEAT for the reply and effort, but just seems like their usual customer service, I love Samsungs devices but Apple has them beat hands down in this department with store walk in help in almost every UK city and good support at that, for a company their size the support for their devices and promotions is abysmal.

Just had a chat with their sales department on the phone about this offer and the other "£50 Samsung Voucher" offer that samsungrecycle.co.uk are doing. The lady I spoke to wasn't even aware of the £100 offer so take her responses with a pinch of salt!
Are the Samsung website or Samsung EPP website participating sellers in the current £100 trade in bonus?
No
Can the trade in bonus still be claimed if discounts or promotional codes were used to purchase an S8 from John Lewis, Very, Argos or Littlewood?
Think so, don't see why not.
The bonus £50 voucher offer on samsungrecycle.co.uk says that the voucher must be used on shop.samsung.com, just to clarify does this also include the samsung EPP site?
Unsure, will escalate my question and get back to me with an answer.
Bit of a shame as it takes the edge off this deal IMO but hope that helps!

7y 31d#50
I am also wondering this, i can get the S8 for £586 sim free using my work discount on Samsung's own UK site. So claiming £325 for my S7 Edge would bring it down to £261. Even at £225 for the trade in without the extra £100, £361 for the S8 is an excellent price! They currently have another offer on giving you a £50 voucher towards the S8 when you trade in your S7 samsungrecycle.co.uk/ "We've teamed up with Samsung to bring you an exclusive offer. In addition to the payment we make you for your device, you will also receive a £50 voucher code to put towards a new Galaxy handset on the Samsung website."
(The thing with doing this though, you'd need to sell your phone to them first, then they would essentially give you £275 in total for your phone, & you'd be without a phone till all this happens & i am not sure if you could combine the £50 voucher with the work perk thing & done a few dummy orders, cant see any sections where you would enter a voucher code)!

My samsung S6 has just started acting strange this week. It gets to the login screen (swipe up or draw a pattern) and then shuts down - if it has the charger plugged in then it seems to work fine and you can get past the login screen but if I remove the charger it will immediately switch the phone off. I've done a factory reset twice but it doesn't improve the issue.
Is this something that could be fixable - to facilitate a "fully working phone" for a trade in or does it mean my phone is wrecked?

7y 32d#26
The prices in the screenshot are inclusive of £100 From Samsung website: Please note: Prices above include the additional £100 and are based on the lowest storage size option of a Fully Working device and are subject to change.
How it works: 1. You sell your phone to Samsung at the price of (screenshot price - £100) For exact price, choose your phone and complete the questionnaire - samsungrecycle.co.uk/sel…one 2. Buy Samsung S8/S8+ from eligible retailers (details in the link) 3. Submit a claim for extra £100. The claim form opens on 08/09/2017
If you own Galaxy S4: - you will receive £32 straight away - if you bought S8/S8+ (from eligible retailer), you will be able to submit a claim form to receive extra £100 £32 + £100 = £132 (as per screenshot)

And Samsung distribution partners
Is this something that could be fixable - to facilitate a "fully working phone" for a trade in or does it mean my phone is wrecked?
From Samsung website: Please note: Prices above include the additional £100 and are based on the lowest storage size option of a Fully Working device and are subject to change.
How it works:
1. You sell your phone to Samsung at the price of (screenshot price - £100)
For exact price, choose your phone and complete the questionnaire - samsungrecycle.co.uk/sel…one
2. Buy Samsung S8/S8+ from eligible retailers (details in the link)
3. Submit a claim for extra £100. The claim form opens on 08/09/2017
If you own Galaxy S4:
- you will receive £32 straight away
- if you bought S8/S8+ (from eligible retailer), you will be able to submit a claim form to receive extra £100
£32 + £100 = £132 (as per screenshot)
13. Claims must be made by 28 November 2017 (the “End Date”). Claims received after the End Date will be marked as invalid and will not be accepted.
14. Participants will be sent an email confirming that their Claim has been received by the Promoter and will be sent a pre-paid special delivery envelope. Participants must post their Trade In Device in the envelope within fourteen (14) days of receipt.
As far as i understand you don't get anything until after the 28 days. you send the phone off once you have purchased the new one.
any advice?
Plus selected business and enterprise resellers and solutions providers. Participants must check with their reseller or solutions provider to establish whether they are a Participating Retailer before purchase.
So I'm not sure how you find out exactly
Seems like a shame if I just binned an S6.
Also, any samsung device after the Galaxy S 5 has a hardware fuse that trips when the device has been amended, usually through obtaining root privileges, and that cannot be reset.
