Thanks. Knowing in advance that the veggie option is rubbish means I don't have to waste time looking!

Me to their veggie option is rubbish just like most of the rest of the food they sell now, this is in part due to change of suppliers for the food ranges they sell. I will not pay their prices for the rubbish quality food they sell now

Is this not just a semi-permanent offer??

They often have a deal on but it can vary - last week was Prosecco and Pizza. One week they had two sides with no dessert but it is usually repeated like this one every 2-3 weeks - always a good deal in my opinion - especially if Puglia wine is included in the deal.

The last meal deal weekend, I got nearly £80 worth of food and drink for £30, the manager was cowering in the corner whimpering "not the face, not the face"... ^_~

You can bet that same £30 spent elsewhere would have gotten you more.
It's all heavily overpriced ready meals.
You don't even want to know how much that wine costs to buy in either that they include.

There is a quantity/quality argument here. I got 8 bottles of good quality beer and cider and two whole chickens, not to mention everything else I got. I'm happy. I'm sure I could go to Farmfoods or Iceland and buy a whole lot more food for that money but would it be of the same quality? I very much doubt it. ^_^

If you want quality then musclefoods is cheaper and better for meat than m & s.
Again quality beers can be had cheap pretty much anywhere when on offer.
M & S is extortionate and mainly ready made food. You can buy quality raw ingredients elsewhere and make it yourself for a lot less

Donegal Place are including rump steaks and plain chicken in this dine in. I got these, cheese, cherries, green beans and mixed veg. None of these are ready meals. They are all excellent quality and with 2 bottle of wine, great value. I am so fed up of people whining about the wine quality on here. It's free people! If you are expecting M & S to give you vintage wines you are living in cloud cuckoo land. These are the types of people who would have asked for chips at the Last Supper and then complained they could have made better at home. Thanks OP, I'm always glad to be reminded about the deal.

There's a difference, though, between a genuine £80 worth of food and £80 worth of food at artificially inflated M&S prices designed to appear on your till receipt and make you think you've saved £50.

If the 4 for the price of three on beers and ciders is on, you can buy two meal deals with 4 bottles of beer and cider and get £2.50 off , so two meal deals for £17.50. I'll wait until they update the deals on my Sparks card and see if there's anymore combinations that I can use.

....or wait for some of it to inevitably appear in the 'reduced' section.
That's certainly what I do.

I wish that they still published details of the wines available - my store only seems to put out about three different ones and they all seem to be quite nasty which has put me off getting the deal. At least before you could get a bottle from the normal wine section if you knew what was supposed to be part of the deal.

Last week when the pizza and prosecco deal was on I noticed there were other wines labeled as in the deal in the wine aisle, failing that ask customer services which ones are included as they never seem to put the slightly better ones out by the fridges.
Over the past couple of deals there's not been much I like in the deal, fingers crossed the lasagne al forno and the cottage pie come back soon as they're great meals that can be cooked from the freezer when you forget to take something out to defrost in the morning.
