Looks like a strong deal for just £429 after cashback that CPCW are running on Windows Laptops £479+ excluding Microsoft Surface.
Has the new Intel Pentium Gold big core processor with a FHD display and a software bundle included with Office, McAfee & Knowhow Cloud. Think it's available both instore and online with free next day delivery too.

Never heard of Pentium Gold till now. Want to learn more about it but all Google searches apart from Currys PC World seem to refer to mining real gold from old Pentium processors. Strange.

Take a look at intel.com/con…tml - looks like the same processor. Reasonable specs but have been burnt by Dell in the recent past. Still, very tempted!

This looks good but like others I'm dubious of the processor. I already have a HP Envy that I bought in December with the latest i5 in it, the power is only just enough for but the build quality is shocking hence looking elsewhere.

In what sense is power only just enough? What are you doing with your PC.
I have used the m3 processors (sliver than this) and they were perfectly good enough for normal use even some light gaming
I would advise to wait a bit longer there are mobile ryzens and new 8-th gen U processors (with 4 cores and allegedly actually faster than old ones...) coming soon. So you will get either a better cpu or the old ones for cheaper price

When though? Been waiting for a month for a decent small laptop (14 inch or lower) with fhd display around £400 with 256gb or bigger drive. Apart from refurbished its not easy to find one! Surprisingly...

You are looking for the right thing I guess. Pricewise I have setup a friend with yoga 510s 14" with i5 6U and 256gb for 430£ (after cashback) about 6 months ago.
I do feel you it is very hard to find such devices, they are charging a hefty premium on small devices and design.
But basically you are waiting for a deal the new cpus are supposed to come in September so theoretically soon it's a waiting game. Maybe check amazon.fr sometimes (they generally have best tech prices from Eu amazons) and I have seen the yoga 510 with above specs for 450eur there.
Good luck

Thanks. Yeah seen the yoga however... Wanting hp, dell or Asus. Lenovo let me down twice before not again.

I use mine for Photoshop and I also use a lot of business software that's quite processor and ram intensive. I've passed on this.
