Non age statement whisky, if you keep buying it they will keep making it, so don't buy any without and age.

laphroaig Quarter Cask is non age statement and it is excellent.

i did not at any point say you could not drink any non age statement whisky, the reason we should not buy it so we get age statement whisky and know what we are buying with our money, it benefits the seller not the consumer. Its the enemy of transparency. Ardbeg udigal and many others are very decent but many more are bad or young, it's a long term negative for whisky buyers, i vote with my money, buy a 10 year old laphroiag instead or Some highland park 12 which is often in the price range and fantastic.

I go off taste rather than what's on the bottle, which is only really a guide as to the quality.

Bought one when reduced in Morrisons - not that good, quite raw tasting and would have been gutted if I had paid full price. The speyside in LIdl at £17.49 is much better (probably better than some the usual brand name) IMHO
