I prefer the Navy colour which is same price on Amazon, a good deal for the silver one though.
Would wait for 8th gen intel GPU-s if possible (coming in september).
Huge performance increase and also 4-cores instead of the current 2-core variants.

Why not wait for the 9th gen next year then?

I like to wait 2 full releases, so I'm waiting on the 10. When that comes out, I'll be waiting on the 12, and so on and never actually buy one becasue I'm so stupid as to keep waiting for the latesty release that's better.

8th gen is a huge step in performance and doubling of cores not just a regular year-over-year small upgrade.

Incorrect as far as I'm aware the 8th gen have a uhd620 integrated which has just the letter "U" added to point out it does 4k no different to the hd620. The performance increase is from the processor side the GPU has just been rebranded.

Yes, I miswrote. The CPU (more important part) is what got a big upgrade.

Xiaomi Air 12/13 with the option of the Nvidia 1030 is a better deal than this.

Who in their right mind would spend this much on an i5 laptop that has no dedicated graphics chip?

Normal people that want a well built laptop, not a plastic thing that plays Space Invaders.

So it looks something like this then; Gorgeous.
And does it have a Gorilla Glass screen? 512gb SSD? Upto 9 hours battery life? (does it last 1.5 hours even?).
I'm not a fan of Windows laptops at all, I've moved on to MacBooks a few years ago, but this machine is gorgeous, and shouldn't be judged on it's gaming ability.

All serious it really is worth waiting for 8th gen they're going to increase core/thread count.

True, but have you seen how savagely they've had to cut base clock, to keep TDP under control...and probably to prevent canbalisation of their M/H lines?

Yep, I think they're scared of AMDs laptop processors and an average consumer will probably think Cores>Clock speed, cash grab move.

This is all well and good but does it toast sandwiches? Closing mechanism like that is missing a trick... Mummy cheese toasties

I think these are gorgeous. I really want to put a second HD or SSD in a new laptop though and I don't think there's anywhere to put one in these is there. Shame. That's quite a niche desire though, I would go for this otherwise. Hot!

Shame none of these OEM don't offer option without OS. That could have saved £100 and some of us can put Linux
