Hate to sound harsh but a 10" screen is just horrible and performance isn't good either: trustedreviews.com/rev…0pa
For £200, unless you absolutely must have a lightweight Chromebook / heavy tablet, I'd give this a miss and get the Windows 10 based EZBook 3 Pro: hotukdeals.com/dea…333 Not only is it cheaper at £175 but it does more with a Windows 10 OS.

First you willfully completely miss the point and then you post a link to a selectively negative review. A 10" screen is not horrible. In fact it's perfect for people who want a 10" screen. It's a Chromebook, the attractions of which include not having to put up with Windows of any flavour. And there are many excellent reviews of this particular model to be found, but for some reason you didn't bother linking to any of those.

1. 10" screen on a laptop is grim. 2. The Rockchip RK3288 is grim. 3. 16GB storage is grim. 4.. I own a Chromebook and have been using one for years. 5. The review is what it is ie accurate. 6. The Windows laptop in the link is significantly better (as well as cheaper).
Anything else?

I'm writing this on a Chromeook Flip. It's fantastic. The way it works, you really have to consider it as a package rather than playing top trumps with specs. I get 9-10 hours with this easily - currently I'm at 58% with 5:22 left according to Chrome OS. Pages load quickly and I get to also run Android apps natively. Everything just works and no need to mess about. No possibility of some stupid Windows app you installed draining power in the background. No real threat of any one of the large number of Windows viruses infecting your system. You can also run Ubuntu Linux via crouton if you want a full desktop environment.
As a laptop I bring to the cafe, or to type stuff when I sit up on the bed, it's excellent. I close the lid after I'm done and when I open it after a few days it's ready to go right away, the battery meter having barely moved.

Yes, I know how Chromebooks work. Like I said in the other post, I own one.
The Windows 10 laptop I've linked in the earlier post is still a better deal though and a far better all round laptop proposition. Chrome OS even with Android Apps enabled is still very limited compared to a Windows 10 machine.

Nothing else, no. I'm generally little convinced by arguments and assertions that depend so heavily on the level of 'grimness' of a particular feature or property, or by a reworded repeating something that has already been said ,so forgive me if I regard my earlier points as remaining unmet.

Who cares if you're unconvinced? I certainly don't. You can continue to labour in ignorance for the rest of eternity for all I care.
Thanks I guess it does bargain I had £50 John Lewis credit so went for it

I tested loads of these convertible laptops and the keyboard on this was the most usable. Also it is very light. Use chrome OS for general stuff but also have xubuntu on it, via crouton, for coding and other more technical requirements. Now also has play store so you get all the Android apps. Very pleased with it all round really, and a bargain at this price.

Didn't realise there were two items in this deal. I was referring to the C100PA.

I have this one ( the £199 c100pa)
Couldn't be happier with it - IMO the touchscreen & android apps make up for lack of functionality of chromeOS (And I wasn't a big fan of Chromebooks before this one)
Windows laptops have their place, but you need to spend at least double this for a decent one.

I took the plunge and bought a Flip too. Nice machine. Plus you get an extra 100 GB of free cloud storage from Google. Staff in two branches of John Lewis insisted that these don't run Android apps - looks like they need some training :-)
Pity that Microsoft have disabled the Word / Excel apps so they don't appear in the Play store :-(
