Better than nothing, but Amex hasn't had a classic year for offers (IMHO).
Never mind, Shop Small is only a few months away. (roll on 2nd December)

I don't buy stuff from Halfords (but have 5% in my account), but I didn't even know that these existed, so you can have heat for bringing this to my attention.
Annoyingly, I appear to have a 1% credit on Airbnb. I discover this a week after I paid £800 for an Airbnb for a stag party and £400 for a week away with the lady. Alas. At least its only about £12 between the two.
Its weird, that Airbnb one is surely a targeted one based on my spending (I tend to use them quite a lot) and a few others in there seem to be targeted too, but some are for companies I've never heard of. I wonder if you get better/different deals based on what you've previously spent/used? So if you've previously used the 5% off at Halfords (or shopped regularly with them), you only get 3%, because its less valuable to Halfords as you're already a regular customer?

I have the same Airbnb offer even though I have never used them before so it's a general offer and not targeted at people who have.

Why rely on Amex? There is a great prepaid card that is free to use and pays permanently 6% on Halfords and M&S purchases, 5% B&Q, 4% Argos and many others: pockit.com/cas…ck/

Reason why people use Amex is flexibility and ease of earning rewards points which can be moved or redeemed to plethora of hotel and airline partners. In particular avios, mNm, virgin, hhonors, spg, ihg etc

yes i have amex as well, i use it sometimes where its excepted that is , which is mainly big stores and company's due to the excessive charges they have, also i try to use it to get back the £25 per year rip off charge they make for having the card in the first place.
