I assume the 8GB allows apps to be installed to an ad card? And Google play can be hacked onto it?

What do people use these for besides as a tablet? Does it do anything clever with Alexa/Fire stick etc?

I was wondering the same. We have an Echo Dot with Anker speaker. Considering getting Dots for the kids (age 6 and 9)who already have the Anker mini sound core (great sound for their rooms). However, as the tablet is cheaper than the Dot, could it be left on and used for Alexa 24/7 but also be connected to TV via HDMI for Plex etc.

It doesn't have voice activation. You need to press and hold home button to activate Alexa. It plays the music fine

Gotta admit bought one from JL a few months ago, find it very laggy and restrictive, wish I'd gone for a pure android device myself, but you can't argue over the price
