Think it's a pretty good price considering the current ddr4 price spikes. If you're using Ryzen with this, try to achieve atleast 2666MHz clocks

If you're using Ryzen I don't think this would be a wise choice of RAM.

Why do Ryzen work better with faster ram? I've never tried the new amd cpus

The architecture gets substantial gains from quicker memory:
With the same CPU speed but faster RAM there is significant gains to be had.

Which ram would you recommend for a Ryzen 5 1600, with a GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming 3 motherboard?
Looking for 8gb(Around £80) and was thinking - Corsair CMK8GX4M2B3000C15R Vengeance LPX 8GB (2x4GB)

If you're trying to cheap out go for 2666MHz. Recent tests from "Tech YES City" if I'm correct have shown that 2666MHz is only a little under 3200MHz in some games.
But if you have money then go for it

Got around £400, was looking to get a new case, but not desperate and could buy one down the road.
3000Mhz is only a tenner more than the 2666Mhz
So I'll probably get
CMK16GX4M2B3000C15R Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4
And
GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming 3 Next Gen AMD Ryzen CPU AM4 Socket DDR4 PCIe Gen3 USB 3.1 ATX Motherboard
Should be ok with the Ryzen 5 1600?

Yeah! They should all run fine. As I said you can cheap out for 2666MHz ram as it's not a "huge" performance difference but rather +-5 FPS in games (CSGO +-25 but that's an exception).
But if you're doing some editing and others 3000MHz will be benefitial. Enjoy your build

Sorry about the late response (been on hol) as Neno said, 3000Mhz, would most definitely be beneficial, and the Vengeance lines of RAM tend to play well with Ryzen.
Some lines, e.g. the Vengeance LED from Corsair cannot reach their advertised speeds. Best bet is to check the compatibility list for the mobo manufacturer but I think you should be good

The 2800 version works fine on my Ryzen. It recognised the XMP profile. Height may be an issue for some coolers.
Whilst its true for Ryzen that faster RAM is better, it might be worth getting this and then upgrading later to even faster ram 3800 or something much later.
