More of a heads up than a deal to be fair. Obviously the price can be lowered if you buy CDKeys topups and preorder using that or if you've got Amazon voucher you can use them here. But, still £15 for all these contents and nostalgia is a bargain in my opinion... Also, the beta version of game currently can be accessed from the insider app.
Age of Empires, the pivotal RTS that launched a 20-year legacy returns in definitive form for Windows 10 PCs. Bringing together all of the officially released content with modernized gameplay, all-new visuals and a host of other new features, Age of Empires: Definitive Edition is the complete RTS package.
Engage in over 40 hours of updated campaign content with new narration and pacing, jump online in up to 8-player battles with new competitive features and modes, experience 4K HD visuals with overhauled animations, get creative with the scenario builder and share your creations with easy mod support.
There's never been a better time to jump in to Age of Empires. Welcome back to history.

I finally bought the R6 on XB1 too mate. I set the console to download, maybe tonight you see a noob with a Bazooka or something running around in your game. I also normally gain score through friendly kills only. :astonished:

Just get yourself through those first 20 levels, then you can pop onto the 'Ranked matches' where things are much more organised.
It really is such a great game, make use of the Situations to get yourself familiar with the maps. You'll know when you've found the operator/s that work best for you. When you do, you've nailed it.
I'm a bit of a one trick pony...Ash, Fuze and Mute, but they work well for me. Seriously, I don't say it light heartidly, but it's the best game this generation. Have fun with it

Agreed! I haven't played for ages now, but it's most definitely my favourite game this generation
It reminds me of Counter Strike when I used to play on dial up, it just kept bringing me back! Tactics are key. It's such a shame on Xbox people tend to be in parties and don't use the in game chat

So will this AoE and AoE IV appear on Steam sometime in the future..?

So... the game isn't on Steam (which particularly is my main and pretty much only source for games), BUT ALSO is 15£ for a game that is, at the end, 19 years old? You gotta be kidding me.

It's mad isn't it, how developers put a load of work into modernising something and want money for it...

Oh, Drama Queen detected! I'm not saying it should be free, however we've been seeing people these last times developing games entirely by THEMSELVES (without a company behind them) with much less resources and making the games much cheaper if not free. Cmon just admit is a 20years old game that is pretty stupid to charge 15£ for it

I'd say that it's pretty stupid to judge it's worth solely on it's age... I think £15 is a fair price, and based on the heat it's getting, I don't think many people think it's stupid either.

I guess you are the drama queen here who is complaining. It is a remaster in 4k and nowhere it looks alike the original one. We've seen devs remastering a game released few years ago and asking for much more than this. £15 is not something massive you're going to need to break your bank for it.

I don't agree. And I'll be buying it. I bought Starcraft 1 remastered too.

It costs about £15 to go to the cinema to see a film, say on average lasting 2 hours, wonder how many hours I will sink into this...

I even don't know if there is going to be a steam version to be honest. If I am not wrong they have just recently started taking preorders.

Civilisations were much cooler in this than in aoe2. But aoe2 was so much more user friendly. 5 minutes later realising your 20 farms had been used up sucked. Loved the tower sound and the ballistas were cool as well.

I remember going to America partly to get AoE2 on release, I played that game to death.
Apparently there is AoE3 and AoE4 on the way too, confusing...
Is this just an early release or will it be more expensive later?

So this is Age 1 remastered. Age 2 and 3 are also getting remastereds and will be released at some point. The original Age 3 was released in 2005, and Age 4 was announced at gamescom earlier in the week. Age 1 remastered (this), is sticking with the £15 price point, and won't change when it releases in October.
