I looked at this but only having a B energy rating isn't great for a condenser when some vented have a B rating also!

Most Condensers have a B rating for the price you cant go wrong. Only way you get any better is if you go heat pump however the additional cost of a decent one plus eneergy saved over say a 5 year period mean half the time you can't justify the additional innitial outlay

£150 Condenser at a B rating or a £340 one for an A Rating.... The power draw difference over years probably wouldnt add up anywhere near. However I heard tree Hugging is free these days with an A* Popularity Rating

Ive had a standard indesit condenser dryer for about 10 years now

4 drums 6 belts 8 doors

Thinking of replacing my washer dryer. Also an Indesit. Has been awesome for a number of years, including being stuck in storage for some of it, but now all it does is come out soaking and wet... not sure if that's worth fixing or not!

you are lucky, just replaced our Indesit today - it lasted 18 months!! but had to have a quick replacement and that was the only one in my price range. Want to get a dryer now so may go for this one if it doesn't need special plumbing. Have no idea what i am doing with electricals, had to get a man in to install the machine tomorrow!
that is spooky as I am deciding now whether to get rid of my dishwasher and get this tumble dryer :neutral_face:

I agree with the comment about the dehumidifier, we had a tumble dryer, rarely used it, my wife likes silk, bamboo viscose, various wools and natural fabrics; a lot of them cannot be put in a tumble dryer. My cycling shorts were wrecked by it and I don't really like the static it creates. On HUKD over last Christmas holiday there was a dehumidifier on a Prime lightening sale. We have always had issues with condensation, we live in a sealed box and everything you do pumps water into the air. Said dehumidifier has been great the house was dryer, we turned the heating down and don't use extract fans so much, the place feels warmer and more comfortable. We have an old back boiler cupboard and that is big enough to have put some hanging racks in and use in there unit dryer function, it was raining today and I dried a full load of mixed fabrics with the dehumidifier in about an hour. We can dry all our more delicate fabrics with it, if they have been hand washed just let the worst drip off on the line. Our winter bills were less this year and we had a 2 week winter holiday last year, so less time with the heat up and other items being used, it has been a brilliant purchase.

Don't be fooled by the 10 year parts & motor guarantee, it is a total bull $hit advertising con. If your item breaks down you have to pay a call out charge which is nearly as much as the actual tumble dryer costs. I bought a washing machine about 6 years ago that died at 13 months that had a '10 year parts warranty' and they wanted over £100 call out charge to look at it and fit the so called free parts. Needless to say it went to the local tip and I bought a Bosch washing machine.

Consumer Rights act gives you up to 6 years cover for faulty goods. You should have pursued the retailer for the repair or replacement.
