Thank you. It is a shame they charge 50p for using a voucher (and paying with credit card), but still £2.50 off our take away! This is going to get very hot!

Didn't know they charged 50p for using voucher. Considering the prices on menu are slightly inflated than going direct to takeaway, it negates much of the saving

You can only use the voucher if you then pay with debit/credit card - which they charge 50p for.

They have a price promise that you'll pay the same as if you went direct.

Cards issuers won't be able to charge that soon under new laws. Wonder if Just Eat will find a way around it? Either way, any saving is better than nothing.

They'll just up the prices across the board! A tactic I see many retailers doing to make up for the loss of card fees

it's not the card issuers that are charging, it's the merchants in order to offset the fees the card companies charge them for accepting payments by card
I hope it won't become illegal to do that, because then prices will go up - especially on "cash price" items. They'll build in this cost to their product, as it is overhead that costs them money. They'll just pocket the difference on cash sales.

When I last ordered they had removed the 50p card charge & added a 35p charge for all orders (whether you paid by card or cash) so maybe this is their way of getting around it?

I last ordered a couple of weeks ago and was charged the 50p. Will see if the 50p comes in here. If it's 35p on cash payment too, I might as well call up the restaurants for a phone order.

It's 30% whereas I think the previous one was £5 off £20 spend?

Up until this one they were £5 off a £15 spend.
Think they've seen TopCashback's bank holiday offer which some would use for takeaway and decided to pip them.

Ah sorry, yes that's it. So that would've been equivalent of 33% so this new one is similar but lower spend threshold.
Will checkout TCB offer too. Thanks

true but its very easy to spend £15 on a takeaway for more than 1 person, so in terms of a percentage of total value it will definately be worse in 95% of cases than the previous offer

Thanks OP. Shame they didn't do £5 off as earlier. Anyways something better than nothing so will take the £3 off.
