Great prices on Hive items on JL - 20% off sale - and appears that Amazon is price matching.
Heating & Hot Water w/install = £199.20 Heating w/o install = £143.20 (JL) and £135.12 (Amazon) Active plugs (new style) = £31.96 Multi-zone thermostat = £79.20 Other items also seem to be reduced.

Hoping that a retailer that is on a cashback site also matches soon ;-)

Voted hot for the price but still a bit of a gimmick to me. Just set the normal thermostat to the temperature you want and let the boiler do the rest. If going anyway then set it lower before you leave. Struggling to find the appeal for this but I'm all ears!

I'm not too familiar with Hive because I use a Netatmo, but the plus points of that for me are the fact it knows the outside weather conditions means it knows when is going to be the best time to start heating up to reach your desired temperature (once it's worked it out after a week or so it's perfect).
I can set multiple schedules that I can switch to easily, so most weeks the heating will be off all day, kicking back in before 5pm for when I get back from work. During school holidays though I'm going to be home most days so I can just create a schedule for those circumstances.
Using it from outside home, when it's really cold or I've been caught in a heavy rain shower sometimes I like to put the heating up a little higher than my normal temperature.
I also like the IFTTT integration, mostly for the DO Buttons (like a button I can press to boost up the temperature for a couple of hours)but also my Thermostat changes to away automatically based on my Google Calendar.
I only paid about £95 for the Netatmo though.

I'm voting cold because it had been cheaper to install and all the Hive accessories are overpriced in the 1st place.
I actually have had Hive since February and love it.
My previous timer clock was very old (A-B,CD) so basically i had I left it on timed, it basically came on twice every 24 hours (2x90 mins) either water only or water + heating (Back Boiler)
with this, you can have it on 6 times down to a 15 minute minimum if desired with a combination of either water only or water + Heating
can also send a text to put it on or off if i'm away from home
Handy if you forget while away from home
overall, it is very good but Yeelights are far cheaper than Hive bulbs/TP LINK Plugs for Hive plugs for doing the same job, for which you need no hub.

My Salus can do the same bar the text activation. Obviously if you are comparing this to an ancient one then you'll notice a big difference but can't justify having it over any normal digital programmeable one costing £50.
it has been slightly cheaper recently, but only by £10-£15 or so

Camelcamelcamel doesn't track special events like Prime Day when it was £156 installed

Also, if you go through Amazon (same price) contact them prior to ordering and ask them if they will issue a full refund if for any reason it can't be fitted.
They did for me!

I'd say, if you must have it, £200 installed aint too bad but avoid their overpriced accessories !

Bought it for £93 from Amazon recently. Bought a 5m length of 5 core cable from screwfix and wired it up myself.
Not really used it yet but looks immense and was pretty simple to install and setup.
Took about 90 mins but that included crawling around in roof space to make the install tidy.
