Did that have an 80s image filter on? Based on the image quality, this could do a nice job to record an indie film based in the 80s.

Nah, Blair witch whilst being wrapped with selotape. Amazed this deal has been toasted so much - seriously nasty bit of kit - but I can think is it'll be something for the kids to play with without you worrying much

Judging by the size of the date stamp I would say you had a lower resolution selected. I have just tested mine and it is much better than that. I even tested it in the pond and it was water tight.

Just use a trustworthy USB charger instead of the dubious ones they supply with these. Even then, it's hard to know what to expect from a camera like this until you receive it. There are so many that come in exactly the same case and use the same batteries, but (from experience) the insides are completely different, not just in terms of software but also sensors. Some of the 1080P ones offer true 1080P image quality on a par with the Mobius cameras, while others are clearly just upscaled from 640x480 or something ridiculously low res.
