Plenty left here. But they scan at £109. I swear Tesco plant these 'deals' just as click bait.

Biggest failure cause for any drive is poor cooling. We stick temperature recording stickers on all our drives upon fitment this records maximum temperature. All the failed drives have recorded 40+ degrees celcius upon failure. We also note that some manufacturers cooling is worse than others and contributes hugely to reliability.
Installing 19 degree climate control in our server farms reduced drive failure buy almost 25%!

Based on my experience working in a very large enterprise environment for 20 years (6,000+ client machines and 3 server farms).
Many years ago Seagate produced a bad batch of drives which admittedly had high failure rates, this was quickly resolved and have been excellent ever since, but the reputation seems to have stuck around.
We are using Seagate Ironwolf Pro drives almost exclusively now, after moving away from WD Red Pros.

last 12 months have had 2 out of probably 50+ WD RED 3TB/4TB drives currently in circulation (servers, SAN's and NAS units) need replacing, and WD have honored warranty without issue for both replacements.
a couple of years ago, back when we used Buffalo Linkstations (the 4x4TB (12TB total) Seagate Barracuda drive units) we had all four fail in mutliple nas units, confirmed hdd failures and had to perform disaster recovery using our off site data stores as the buffalo link stations on site were what had died for the clients.
Never going back to Seagate, WD Red/Red Pro or nothing. Not even giving Seagate Ironwolf a chance.

Seagate 3 & 4 tb are actually more reliable than WD reds.

Wow, crazy. I am not going lower then 4TB and swap all my HDD's for 4TB REDs based on other reports like this. Wonder why there is so big diff. between 3TB and 4TB. Still...s(ea)hitgate the worst from all.

I'm really surprised these are even still in stock at any Tesco after last month's deal! I went round so many Tescos in Northern Ireland back then looking for this but they were all sold out of these older packaged drives and already had the new packaged ones out on the shelves. Good on you if you manage to find one though, very lucky!

I have had two 3tb and one 4tb MyBooks and both 3TB's were Reds, only the 4tb survives, the drive failed in one of my 3TB's and the other was damaged in transit and both were defo Red's, can't comment on the 4tb.
While this is a steal if you are lucky enough to find one be aware that 3TB WD Reds (the drive in this) have quite a high failure rate of 7.65% with an average life of 16.3 months (in a server farm environment based on a sample of 1085 drives). In short (as with any drive) MAKE SURE YOU MAKE MULTIPLE BACKUPS !

I think you might be confusing these with the MyCloud ones, which definitely contain the reds. I like them, they're quiet and I haven't failed one yet. Still, you should definitely have backups, regardless of which drives you use, so good advice!

If this was national I would vote hot,I over the years have picked up a multitude of great reduced to clear deals but as they were only sporadic in-store I Saw little point in posting.
I think a heads up section of great but not national deals would be a good idea which I would post my latest find a Lenovo yoga 11.6 notebook brand new for £122 on.
And if this deal the WD my book was in such a section I would vote it hot.
