my phone used about 150KB of data which in turn cost me £2 on 2 days, i phoned up to cancel told them about the Plusnet offer, so has increased my anytime minutes from 100 to 1500. still unlimited texts, unlimited landline. Plus now get 1.5GB data as opposed to zero oh and also get unlimited virgin mobile calls.
I called up on the number
0345 6000 789
option 2 for mobile then option 2 for thinking of leaving / upgrading. my account is showing 1gb, will check this so have adjusted this deal

I've been offered 2GB data, 2500 minutes and Unlimited texts for £5 per month as a new customer (existing Virgin Media - not sure if this makes a difference).

I'm on this. Just went to my Virgin profile and change it from the 4GB at £8 to the 2GB £5 one.

Yes, it is available on either a monthly contract or 12 month contract.
I was looking though for a lower cost one with less allowance for two phones that are just for emergencies.

virgin are moving to 12 month contracts, even retentions try and get you to sign up to that length. A customer service manager who I escalated to told me that it was Ofcom forcing them, Ofcom said they no nothing about it. Terrible customer service.

Retention deals should be banned... they are tailored to the individual, and not available to all. (_

Sure there will be plenty of completely unbelievable retention deals on here that only one person could get.
If I was cynical I'd say that it was Virgin placing moles. But I'm not - sure loads of others get this and the other VM retention deals?!!!

Called up beginning of the week to cancel , bloke I spoke to said that they could not offer anything close to the Plusnet offer, they must have woken up to the number of customers they have lost.

you should have said thats ok i will be cancelling, then most likely they would get back to you to offer you a better deal, the thing about virgin they have always treated new customers better than there own loyal customers, unless you ring and try to cancel
Opening post
was paying £4 a month.
