EU banning the word milk from these products for the reason above.
I know we are leaving the EU, but at the mo we are still in it.

The EU banning the word milk from them it's not to protect the customers, it's to appease dairy farmers. I think there's definitely been a big shift from consumers towards these milks in certain demographics.
The use of words changes over time, if I can pour it on my cereal and have it in coffee then it's ****ing milk. If it's better for the environment and tastier what's not to like.

You can get Soya Drinks(Milk) from Lidl for 59p per 1l carton. Its decent
