I know the hate for FreedomPop is real, I get it I really do. However, they are listening to users complaints and making positive changes and are offering a deal that I think is worth considering!
You can get Unlimited Minutes, Unlimited Texts, and 2.25GB 4G Data (On Three network) for £5.99 a month, with the first month FREE and NO contract!
Payment is in 3 month instalments of £17.97 (£5.99 x 3) and should you feel the need to cancel, they will offer a prorated refund to make sure you aren't left out of pocket.
Just to recap, NO special app is required for Calls/Text, just pop in the sim as you would any other and off you go!
Also, Voicemail is FREE and automatically included. Number porting is now also FREE.
So there ya go. I think it's worth giving respect to a company that listen to their customers to make positive changes to their service.

Just a warning if you intend to use the free plan
- There is NO customer service unless you pay for premium plans. Ie if you call them they say they cannot help you until you pay to upgrade
- I have not managed to log in to the support site to submit tickets (recurrent log in page problem) for support so once again NO customer service
- They are very happy to suddenly freeze your account even though you still have allowance left. You cannot access support (see above 2 points) so you are stuck without any data or calls or texts.
- No roaming
- calls out ie VOIP is completely unusable, extremely poor quality calls even with good signal.
- You need the app for outgoing calls and text unless you pay for premium voice (OP says free- it is NOT free)
- You need to pay for voicemail- it is NOT free
- Number porting has never worked and it is impossible to contact support to get a PAC code (see points 1 and 2).

I signed up to a FreedomPop US SIM whilst in the US. Bad mistake. Despite it supposedly being $0.99 a month with a free cancel they continued to take $32.98 the next month even though I had cancelled. Luckily PayPal were very good and refunded my money. I eventually got some replies from their customer services which were full of bad excuses. Am surprised they are allowed to continue as I am not the only one who has been through this

I appreciate that, and that's been the experience for a lot of people in the past, but they have made positive steps to change how their service works, and given the fact they listened to their customers and have made positive strides going forward, they deserve another chance at getting it right, but that's just my opinion

Changes to their service were only introduced last week. I can't speak for the US service as i'm only aware of the changes made for UK plans. I'm pretty much the 'Sim' guy around these parts, and was genuinely impressed by their acknowledgement of previous issues, and their resolve to correct past mistakes with their service.
Nothing I say can undo the bad service you had, I can only point out the fact they are aware and seem to be working hard to correct it.

7 Jul 171#28
I assume that was an accidentally misleading response. In reality, the minimum spend to obtain the monthly price mentioned in OP is £17.97 on the basis that the customer has to spend £17.97 to be able to (attempt to) request a refund of £11.98; this presentation concept is not dissimilar to how HUKD convention requires the presentation of "cashback by redemption" deals. Alternatively the minimum payment is zero, assuming that the initial free month does not require pre-payment of the subsequent 3 month term. And presumably the £1.99 delivery charge does not apply to this deal, or has that charge been omitted from deal title, similar possibly to the usual additional 99p activation fee?

Something we like giving our customers a heads up about is that upon sign up, premium services are added for a free trial period of 30 days. We don't like comparing ourselves, but if you use Netflix or Spotify, these systems use something similar. If the premium services aren't removed and the account changed to free before the trial period, a renewal fee applies.
FreedomPopUK
7 Jul 17#38
That is correct, for this new deal, even though we encourage users to still download the app because it helps manage the account and monitoring usage, for new purchases, the app is no longer required for making calls & texts. Old account sims will be converted in the near future.

1. If user is on the 100% free plan, then calls will be through VoIP. For all other plans (such as the plan being offered in this deal), the calls will go through cellular network.
2. FreedomPop App is not required for calls/texts. However, we still encourage all users to still download the app because it helps with account management & monitoring usage.
3. This SIM does not have international roaming. It will only work within the UK.

I've used FreedomPop myself and I echo the sentiments. They are an awful company and the service they provide is really not the same as a standard operator in my opinion. Especially that requirement to buy premium voice to make the service tolerable.
Unlimited minutes may be okay I guess but on the old deals, if for example you turned off automatic payements, they would cut you off before your allowance was used up (unable to recieve/make calls, unable to do anything so that I was walking around all day thinking the mast was down) then refused to reinstate the service if I didn't put payments back on.

Great deal but terrible company, I appreciate everyone has a different experience and some will have had a amazing service I am sure but this is my personal experience.
This company has NO customer service at all, I recently tried to move two numbers to them, after getting our new sims and giving them our PAC codes we sat an waited for our numbers to come over, after 4 telephone conversations and 23 days later they still hadn’t transferred our numbers…OMG it’s the 21st century guys come on!!
Obviously, our old contracts were due to expire and as such we would have lost our numbers completely so took a deal with EE who sent us new sims and transferred our numbers within 3 days, if you vale your time and sanity over a £2.50 a month saving then don’t ever use FreedomPop

EU free roaming is available from end of June.... they dont have to charge or do anything special. If they dont offer it for free and charge then they break to law. Obviously, our old contracts were due to expire and as such we would have lost our numbers completely so took a deal with EE who sent us new sims and transferred our numbers within 3 days, if you vale your time and sanity over a £2.50 a month saving then don’t ever use FreedomPop
Are you working for / being paid by / benefitting from FreedomPop in any way other than a regular customer?
Your defending this company so vehmently makes me suspicious. Sorry.
I do find it interesting that FreedomPop jump in on every FreedomPop comment thread. I've never seen another mobile network operator do this. I suppose it's advantageous for them to do so (to clarify what their service actually entails), but there's also a lot of defensive measures going on here too.
Have some heat OP - I must read up on this - I have 3 FreedomPOP sims already!
In any case good thing glad Rimi is here since the unauthorised payments being taken is the worst thing they could do. Also the non existent Customer Service someone else mentioned, Glad the HUKD community is loud!
Getting your money back. Once you accept these limitations then you are ok. There's computer can be games to give you 200 minutes free every seven months for three months though that's a better deal
One is clear, that other people mentioned, they can suspend/disable your service for no reason (check their terms) and also to cancel you can only do it through their support. But if you can not contact support how you can cancel?

Visual Voicemail is a value added service, that is correct.
Please keep in mind that not needing the app, at the time, applies only to this deal. Did you purchase this sim and are having issues making calls? If that is the case, please feel free to send us a private message to help you on this matter.

============
Stay away from this company it is not worth the time and effort to use their service.
I was thinking of joining them, so I've decided to give a call to FreedomPop customer services, and they have just confirmed to me that you need their FreedomPop App to use their services, Rubbish!
So please change your title.....
Super Cold for this deal and FreedomPop.
