Hey…. TSB has a great deal on balance transfers at the moment.
The Platinum balance transfer card offers: • 0% interest on balance transfers for 28 months • 0% interest on purchases for three months (18.94% after that) • 0.5% balance transfer fee but this is refunded within 60 days of the transfer, making the transfer fee-free (I have no idea why they do it this way).
To be eligible customers need to: • Open their account before 6 September 2017 • Make their transfer before 4 October 2017 • Make their transfer within 90 days of opening the account to get the 0.5% fee refunded • Minimum balance transfer is £100 • Subject to credit check customer may be offered 25 or 22 months at 0% on balance transfers
Cashback potential Customers who also hold a TSB Classic Plus current account receive 1% cashback on their credit card spending. This is capped at £5 a month (£500 of spending) and the deal ends on 30 June 2018.
So if you spent £500 a month on the card for 12 months you’d earn £60 in a year. Just don’t forget to pay off the card in full each month or you’ll be charged interest after the initial three months are up. How this deal compares This is the second-longest fee-free BT deal on the market. Halifax offers 29 months – but you can’t transfer from a Halifax card. So the TSB deal is perfect if you need to transfer from Halifax or if Halifax turns you down or offers less than 29 months at 0%.

Very tempting to pay off my overdraft as will save me £30/month in charges.

Not sure how you would pay off your overdraft with this card unless you withdrew cash which would come with fees?

There are so many bank banks doing this balance transfer @ 0% interest. You can find better ones with cashback via TCb or Quidco.

Here's a question...
Scenario:
I balance transfer £10k debit
In month 4 I spend £100 and pay the £100 at the next bill
Question: does the £100 payment go towards the £100 spent in month 4 (and therefore no interest payable) or does it go towards the £10k?

The 'rules' changed a year or two ago. The FCA / FSA told the credit card companies that any payment made must be applied to the most expensive portion of the debt first, so in your scenario the £100 will pay off the £100 spent and not go towards the interest-free £10k.

Not sure you can transfer straight into a bank account - only certain cards offer this facility. Most will just do balance transfer from another credit card.

Only certain cards offer balance transfer into a bank account so think you are right you would have to pay fee for cash withdrawal and then do not think you would benefit from 0%.

Anyone know if you get the 1% cashback if you make minimum payment (as it's 0% interest on purchases) or do you have to pay in full?

I could not see it in the terms and conditions.
