I bought some of these two weeks ago when they were £1.49. Put them straight in the fridge as instructed on packaging (not refrigerated in store) and next day half of them were rotten. Lidl were happy to refund the cost when i returned the following week but my experience did draw my attention to their strange labelling practice for packaged fresh fruit and veg. The pummet had the number L2502 on it. Evidently this indicates it was packed on the 2nd day of the 25th week of the year. Their advert says the strawberries will be in store the day following being picked. My purchase was on the Thursday, day 5? Not surprising they were past their prime three days later as it was very warm weather and they were in a bin just inside the entrance, not refrigerated like their more expensive ones. If fresh they're good value but take care to check them.
