Rage through 32 single player levels and 6 deathmatch levels of sheer terror and fully immersive sound and lighting. Arm yourself against the cannibalistic Ogre, fiendish Vore and indestructible Schambler using lethal nails, fierce Thunderbolts and abominable Rocket and Grenade Launchers.
For a better experience you might want to use the Quakespasm engine to play the game.
One of the best games ever made. Better and scarier than Doom!

Back in 1996 it might have been, but early 3D shooters have aged badly. I suspect this is only one for the nostalgic and not something you'll enjoy if you didn't play it or similar games at the time.

The single player isn't great but the multiplayer is timeless. The feeling of bunnyhopping around "The Abandoned Base" is yet to be beat for me! The Edge in Quake 2, Campgrounds in Quake 3... nothing on this!

paid £29.99 for this back in the 90s lol
wouldn't really buy it now. Get Quake Champions - I think it's free.

I actually think it still holds up well but I prefer the original Doom.
It does but the default engine is not great. id software released the source code years ago so there are better alternatives. Quakespasm or Darkplaces would be a better experience you;ll still need the game files though.
It's free but still in beta. Once they fix the performance and hit reg issues it will be fantastic. Definitely far more people playing it in multiplayer. Quake is still worth it for the campaign and the single player mods though.
Honestly I think Quake is the only thing of value in that pack. I wasn't really a fan of Quake 2 single player and for Quake 3 multiplayer most people are on Quake Live. As @Zoea mentions you can already play Quake Champions and it's free.

Can confirm Quake 2 successfully had me scared recently. Sound mix still does it.
