Sonic Colours still (for me) remains the definitive Sonic game not released on Sega hardware. Generations is - while not bad - very 'meh'.

4real? Sonic Generations is excellent, in my opinion. It's the only title Sega's done on Xbox 360 and PS3 that managed to rescue the franchise from absolute doom. Fantastic combination of 2D and 3D, crap wider universe characters aside. Sonic Colours is grand and all, but if you don't have a Wii or 3DS, that's that. This is great if you don't already have it on PC; well worth £3.74 at least.

For true. One thing I think we can both agree on however, Sonic Mania looks very promising.

Damn right! Though I ended up switching my pre-order of the special edition to Amazon.com as it was only $60 including postage, as opposed to the £80 they were expecting at Amazon.co.uk
