First time I tried it I got the Session Timeout error as well and they took the £8 from my account.
Tried the online chat and they said to phone 0800 079 1133.
Phoned and they sorted out the order and took another £8.

The £8 from the timed out order will be available in my account it a day or three, as usually happens when these things go wrong.

Fairly sure it's not a browser issue. I tried on Chrome and IE Edge.

The issue with ordering is browser try Internet Explorer and the issue won't arise. This problem of ordering been there since Life Mobile was in business and before plusnet took over....looks as if they using same system and not sorted this out.

Thanks for posting OP. My sim only with Tesco was due for renewal. I don't get a signal with plus net but Tesco don't know that. Got 1500mins and 4gb data for £9 a month. Happy with that. Cheers for posting!

If anyone interested might be you never know. I'm on a EE 30 day 4gb contract £11.99 a mth. Just rang them for PAC code mentioned this offer and was offered 4gb max speed plan, unlimited mins texts full eu roaming Inc all the above and 12 MTHS BT sport £8.99 for 12 mths ok not 30 day but doubt be changing anytime in the next 12 months anyway

Since June 17 all roaming in the EU have to be free otherwise, it is illegal.
Italy is EU countries so it should be free roamng

Anyone with Three and called up for a PAC and been able to get them to price match this deal?

Currently paying £11 month for unlimited calls & texts and 4Gb data (advanced plan), but if they could match this for £8 and offer their new "go binge" service which allows unlimited streaming (on Netflix and other selected video/music streaming services) I'd be prepared to stay with them.

Will probably call up for my PAC later and see what they offer so will post and let you know.

Spoken to virgin and no one knows about this offer and they were quite happy for me to go to plusnet

Why in God's name would they not support that? It boggles the mind. Is their official response, "we do not support this"?

It's roaming in Europe not the EU.

I understand it is a monthly rolling contract, so I think the uncomplicated way is to take a new contract with new sim card. Once your new sim arrives ask them to port it to new simcard and cancel the old contract. The maximum you will loose is one month contract.

When I asked them about this they claimed it was to prevent people becoming signed up to expensive scam services by text - the ones that charge you £4 a time and are difficult to unsubscribe from.

However, it also means you can't use TV voting, charity giving, text banking, or unsubscribe from the texts that say "Text STOP to 12345". I don't know why they just don't block short SMS codes by default, but allow customers to enable it if they want, like they do for roaming, international calls etc.

Plusnet Mobile also don't have an app, you can't turn voicemail off/on without calling them, and you can't add bolt-ons without calling them.

Tariff changes start with your next billing cycle (which is fair enough), but something else I found out last month is that if you call up to change your tariff and then (before the next billing cycle has started) call to change it to another tariff, the first change will override the second. So you'll be stuck on the first tariff you requested for an extra month. This also happens if they cock-up the tariff change (e.g. put you on the wrong tariff) and you have to call them to get it rectified. This is what happened to me.

28 Jul 17 #22
No its the unused data that rolls over,
margamboy
28 Jul 17 #23
Be careful with virgin roll over, when I renewed my contract for 6gb data just before I ended the call I mentioned that if I use no data in one month I'll have 12gb the following month, the girl in retentions than confirmed that the max roll over would be 3gb i.e. A max of 9gb in a month was possible not 12gb. This is because most virgin tariffs are double data promotion and only the core data can be rolled not the promotional element.

I got my sim today and my phone number is my date of birth backwards!...

074YYYYMMDD

How freaky is that! I had to call them and ask if that was intentional or not and was told no, completey random! What are the odds??

I dont believe in luck but I have to buy a lottery ticket as when I used to play it many years ago I would use my date of birth, door number and the age of my sister when I started playing.

a) No, it's roaming in the EU, not Europe.
b) Even if it was Europe, it's an EU law. Which we won't be in.

I also got a session timeout, and over half an hour on hold later I've still not got through to anyone to place an order or sort out if any money has been taken.
Shonky company. This deal may be cheap, but honestly, its not worth your time. Avoid!

My 3 children are all on ID Mobile £5 per month contracts. Rang ID to get PAC codes and was offered 4Gb of 4G, 1000Mins and 5000Texts with EU roaming and data rollover for £8 per month each - seemed too good to miss, so I've stayed with ID - very happy with them so far, and children are very happy with the 3Gig increase in data each month for the extra £3 each.

Do I need to get a PAC code from Three before I sign up for this? What's the whole process, I've been on PAYG three for several years now and don't really know how it all works.

The odds are 1/10 x 1/10 x1/10 x1/10 x 1/10 x 1/10 x 1/10 x1/10 = 1/100,000,000 (one in ten million)

Or still about 5 times more likely than winning the lottery.

Tried signing up for the £5 deal last week... Tried signing up to this one today and it repeatedly says "session timeout". I also tried it for my dad too, same result... We were advised to call to sign up, but they couldn't help so we were advised to phone up in a couple of days later, but they couldn't be sure if we could sign up. All in all, a bit crap.

Session Time Out error, every time I tried to subscribe - that has been going on for days. Now my online banking shows six pending transactions for £8 each.
Given up on the offer and I hope they cancel the trasactions so I don't have to chase them. :disappointed:

Timed out on my phone but worked with Internet Explorer browser for me (I have IE 11 on Windows 8 ). Ridiculous that a company the size of Plusnet has this browser compatibility issue. If you don't have a PC with IE browser I suppose the only thing you can do is try to order by phone.

Spoke to them today again, they said their phone systems are working tip top now... Will find out tomorrow, apparently there's another (£6) deal being launched tomorrow. The chap said the computer systems are still being temperamental... After a month.

How is Three signal compared to Plusnet ( EE ) ?
I have Three signal in 90% of the places i'm going outside. The moment i step in a house, it's weaker, many times non existing actually.
EE says they cover more area than Three, but I saw some comments saying plusnet have some issues compared to EE.

Just spent 35 useless minutes talking to Plusnet. I'm an existing customer and at first he said the deal only applied to new customers. Then, when I argued the point, he told me it expired last Saturday. When I told him it was still on the website, he said that he could see this, but that he physically couldn't give me the deal because his system didn't have it live! He's going to call me back later today. Yeah. Sure he will.

OK. Five minutes after I put down the phone, I got a call back. No, he can't give me the offer that's currently showing online, but he can give 3.5GB data, 2500 minutes, and unlimited sms for £8.50, and a loyalty bonus of 50p/month off! Sorted!
damianiw
1 Aug 17 #53
Ok still on website so have given them a call, 35 mins and two handsets now on the same 8.50 deal with 50p discount each :-) and my third which was £10 for 4gb is now on £10 for 5gb with unlimited mins and text, all include roam like home and can use bolt ons for more data when abroad :-) still 30 day contacts yay!

Just spoken to them now and they said there's NOTHING on the system. I'm beyond frustrated and said there's nothing he can do etc etc.

It seriously has been my worst buying experience of anything in 20yrs+ online. Had over 20 session timeouts from 2 different accounts / cards. I call them up and they're suspecting me of fraud. I say I'll sign up with a different card and get told to phone back in "a couple of days" for the "system to clear itself". Admittedly I was late phoning and I miss the £5 deal by a day. I try signing up to the £8 deal - MORE SESSION TIMEOUTS. So I phone up and get told to wait until today for the £6 deal. I do and there's NO £6 DEAL!

Nightmare! Going to stick on TPO's £4 deal.

To those who managed to sign up online CONGRATS! Hope the service is better than the Sales palava!

I called up to get the deal after too many failed attempts online and the guy I spoke to told me that this deal had actually expired and that the website hadn't been updated yet. If I'm honest, I'm not sure if I believe him, but he offered me the £10/5GB/ Unlimited deal on 30 day, which I ended up taking as its still better than the GiffGaff £10/2GB/1000mins I am currently on

I suggested that might be the case and offered to try again online and was still told it had expired. The guy put me on hold a number of times to check and verify that this was the case. Could have been trying to upsell me or it might have really expired. Who knows?

This deal says its now an online exclusive offer. Guessing they couldn't cope with all the phone calls!

2 of my sisters signed up online without any time out errors and got their order confirmation email. They were using their iphone and ipad to play their orders and not a pc if that has anything to do with the problem a lot have had trying to sign up on their computer.

What a joke. They can't upgrade my old Life mobile plan to this one because my sim is 3g(which they never bothered to upgrade from Life) and I was told that all they could do is deliver a 4g sim but by that time this offer would be expired.

PlusNet : you don't make me proud.
Thar
2 Aug 17 #69
That's happened to someone on here before. I ordered for my other half and they sent a 4G SIM but it was a good few days before the offer expired. I'm still with Life, I'm sure there'll be more similar deals.

Thanks for posting this deal!

It was failing at the payment stage (IE as well) so I went to chat and was advised to call cs at 0800 079 1133 and they were able to help. I'm an existing Plusnet customer (broadband).
delgado
2 Aug 17 #72
I'm in that very same position. Plusnet lady on the phone assured me I'd still be able to upgrade by phoning back when the 4G sim arrives as she's put a note on the system. We'll see if she's correct tomorrow when I try to upgrade! I can't see why they wouldn't honour it as they'll be getting more money from me each month.

Not sure why this is marked as expired.

6 Aug 17 #76
I rang Plusnet up on 26th July and switched to this deal. Got a text and an email confirming the deal and that I'd be switched on the 6th August 2017 (my tariff refresh date).

Today is the 6th and they haven't switched it. Phoned them up and they had no idea why it hadn't switched and they have forwarded it to their "Operations Team" who will reply within 5 days.

They did give me a free 2GB data bolt-on to compensate me, but it's not even sure I'll be able to get this deal now as it has expired, despite having the confirmation email, or it may have to be added from next month.

Not exactly a brilliant experience, and unfortunately my first negative one of Plusnet Mobile.
