Have a preference for egg custards from Sainsburys - thin, crisp crust that isn't soggy (Asda's crust is awfully thick and soggy) and a healthy dose of nutmeg.

Yeah I notice the quality varies somewhat. I find the asda ones to be a limp thick damp pastry.

I think Tesco have the best ones, even over M&S and Waitrose. The Tesco custard is so much creamier and sweeter.

4 packs are £1 in every supermarket I think, and Tesco definitely the best. My kids love them for breakfast!
