Picked up a bottle last night as all Lucozade is currently on offer @£1, to my surprise it came up as 40p when I scanned it through. Went back this morning and saw it is reduced to clear...so I bought 7 bottles. I don't know if this is limited to the Bromley Express store only or express stores nationwide but I did go to my local full size Tesco and couldn't see the deal.

Caffeine by closely resembling the Adenosine molecule, binds to Adenosine receptor sites in the brain, the brain doesn't detect Adenosine so nerve activity doesn't slow down and therefore you feel more energised.
So a basic energy drink will contain Caffeine but doesn't have to contain sugar but might be more effective if it does. You can add in L-Theanine (not to be confused with L-Taurine which is in many energy drinks) as it has a synergistic effect with Caffeine and also ameliorates the shaky stimulant side effects of Caffeine.

Don't forget the sugary taste is replace with aspartame, if you don't know much about aspartame have a google search on aspartame side effects, might learn something you didn't know already. Just sharing some knowledge I picked up on the way :smirk:
