No you buy the belts with the screws on.

We have one of the fancy Dewalt XR ones, but being builders we get a bit more use out of it than the average diy'er. I can honestly say it is worth every penny for how much quicker we can get the board hung, no more shuffling a hand full of screws one handed to line the heads up. Also you would be surprised how many splinter-like pieces of metal you can get stuck in your fingers from the screw as you are drilling it into the board.
Provided the tool functions smoothly and lasts for more than one use then it is a steal at that price. But I would chuck the supplied screws away, you want 32MM minimum to get a good hold, you could maybe get away with them on 9.5MM boards but for 12.5MM ones it really is too short.
The screws look like the the same ones available at screwfix etc, we buy ours from Travis Perkins. The only other type of collated screws I'm aware of are ones which are connected to the plastic strip about half way up the screw thread, which these quite clearly aren't, so as I say they should all be the same if they are connected to the strip just under the head.

Agreed. My tools range in quality depending on how frequently I'll use them. Drill etc makita something like this that I'll use less I'd try it. I've sat there picking out metal splinters before after doing some boarding. Can't see any negatives to this.

Are they any good? Screwfix ones are garbage. I normally use wickes zinc ones which are about £4.80 (with discount) for 500.
While I can see the point of this if you are doing low level board I'll just stick with my 12v compact drill.

Not too bad, only used them in a pinch though whilst doing my own house and ran out, usually get them from Selco (but they're trade only).

I put a 12mm ply base down on the floor using one of these that my mate gave me a loan of before I put the flooring down and I have never been more impressed with a tool in my life. It may be expensive for the screws in comparison but the time you save doing a job that requires a lot of screws is unbelievable.
