Great price imho. Even cheaper for "good" condition. This price is for the bog standard grey colour. Other styles available for a bit more - black leather, etc.

You've been fortunate, but don't bury your head in the sand.
I just bought an Honour 9.... because my LG G4 went into bootloop last Thursday! I was aware of the issue and just hoping I might escape it because I had a really late model (would have been one of the last G4s made) and I don't do a lot of intensive things on my phone, like gaming, to run the temps up... but nope!
14 months use and I'm forced to buy a new phone despite being really happy with the one I had. The way LG treated customers who had issues was also very poor. They denied there were issues at all for a long time. I didn't even look at LG models this time around, especially as my (LG-made) Google Nexus 4 died in a similar way, and I've heard G5 users have experienced problems too. Never again.

After 13 months mine bootlooped, but LG repaired it under warranty within a week. I love the phone, but the screen is more prone to scratches than my G2 was.

Just to add to the conversation regarding bootloops. I've seen people talk about them for the last 13 months of owning my LG G4, 2 colleagues have had bootloop issues with them within the last 13 months (One was repaired free by LG but took a few weeks, the other was replaced with a G5 under his separate insurance) ...there was me feeling all smug that mine was fine. Literally a few weeks outside the 12 month warranty and its now bootlooping! Lost faith in LG for an issue to be so widespread (I know its a small sample, but 3 out of 3 is pretty bad!), which is a shame as I loved the LG G2 (what I'm using again now) and the LG G4.
Fortunately Amazon have agreed to refund me so have sent it back.

No issues on mine since the last 2 years. Don't even know what people are talking about. Excellent fast phone, best camera in the market and gorgeous screen. Awesome phone.
And obviously, its an electronic device so there will be problems and that's why there is the 2 year LG warranty. Use it.

You have clearly never had to use LG`s customer service. Dreadful in my experience. None existant to be precise. But you seem an optimistic, glass half full sort of chap so I am sure your LG G4 experience will all end well. Even so, I advise you to always keep any precious data backed up. When my sons LG G4 boot looped, there was no warning.

If yours is a 505 then it was manufactured in May 2015. That's more than 2 years ago. Mine was a 505 also before the motherboard failed with light use after 7 months. No doubt the bootloop issue affected many phones but nobody knows for certain if it affected all phones. It could have just been down to a defective part on their main board or an incorrect process in soldering. Mine failed following a recent software update closely followed by a speedtest so I assume I worked the phone hard enough to break whatever was the weak link. My phone now has a 602 board. One thing I noticed when I got my phone back was just how quick it was. Before I found it a bit laggy compared to my old Samsung S4 and wold see the waiting symbol quite often when accessing any app. It would also say randomly "home has stopped" or "camera has stopped" when entering or exiting the programme. No such issues with the new board.
My advice to anyone who buys one of these is to check the serial number. If you get on that begins with a 5 then work it hard which may cause it to fail. You may need that 12 months warranty.
Not sure where Amazon are getting these phones from because it states they are in original packaging and all phones sent back to LG by consumers would not have included that or a battery or charger.

heathergreen1
13 Jul 171#65
The early versions of the phone (which apparently are more likely to have the bootloop problem) have a model number that begins 505. Apparently the worst affected models are 505 to 508 but, as someone pointed out above, there's no guarantee it won't happen to later models too.
Having played with the phone a bit now, I really like it. Can't decide whether to keep it or send it back!

I did try doing it. My partner got the BL issue, they fixed and replaced it in under 10 days. No problems since - has lasted years.
My G4 suffers screen retention and has done since it was 10 months old. LG claim there is not a known issue with the G4 screen, despite how many have the same problem. They then left me a voicemail saying that the screen retention issue wasn't covered under warranty because it "might go away." They invited me to send it in for repair. They then sent it back having supposedly updated the firmware. No difference to screen retention at all. After my (LG) Google Nexus 4 wifi failed at six months old (also not repaired at the repair centre) I won't be buying an LG again. Really nice phones. Crap build quality.

Had a quick look into this and it appears that the models beginning 505 to 508 are the ones to avoid. I'm going to order one and see what the model number is and think about sending it back if it's one to avoid.

[quote=The way LG treated customers who had issues was also very poor. They denied there were issues at all for a long time.
Not true. You don't even have to speak to them. LG have a website. On it you can register your device. You can even report a problem. When you do they send dpd to you with a little bag to pop your phone in. They send it for repair and even deliver it back to you. Quite simple although you don't get an option of giving the LG agent a hard time of your phone breaking.
They publically announced there was an issue with phone in or around January 2016 which was about 8 months following UK launch. At the end of September 2015 they requested all retailers to return their stock to LG as they knew there was a problem. Mine suffered boot failure in February 2016. Excellent service from LG after my service provider failed to provide a suitable exchange. They could only offer me an S6 which wasn't acceptable so contacted LG.
No issues with mine since new main board fitted 17 months ago. Battery life pretty good. Easily lasts 2 to 3 days and I have a spare. Best feature is mazing screen and camera.

I like LG phones and have just bought myself a G6 after owning a G3, G4 and G5. But the customer service I received when my G4 boot looped though was truly appalling. Took them seven weeks and countless phone calls to eventually get my phone fixed and staff were rude and dismissive when I called - frequently changing their story about what was or was not happening with my phone.
For me LG are a company making premium phones that truly doesn't seem to care for its customers...

I'm not saying they all have them...but the problem was/is very widespread. I'd imagine "lg G4 boot loop" would return more results in a google search than pretty much any other phone model. I believe the G5 was also susceptible but not to the same extent.

Bought our G4 Christmas 2015 and it boot looped in March 2017, first class service from LG. Did not admit to a design fault but sent out a free return label and within a week I had a fully working phone back from them, data would of been lost had I not known about this fault and not backed everything up on the 64gb SD card. It's a great phone but be aware if you are buying from AW then any warranty claim may be declined by LG as it's not new and the phone could already be close to 2 years old which is how the long warranty is for on these devices.

Me too paid £280 in October 2015 got the boot loop last Christmas, was under 2 year warranty (still is actually), the process was pretty easy (ideally a drop off point to send back and not an inpost box) from booking it in for a repair to getting it back only took a week and they only had it in their repair centre for 1 day, very efficient!
