Picked up this pack yesterday instore, but they didn't show any online they also do link for £4.26 which is available online. At this price, everyone should have one.
Spend over £10 and its free delivery, I bought the twin pack and going to give the extra one to a friend.
Remember a lot of smoke alarms should be replaced after 5 or 10 years. I think its to do with failure rates.

I think the halflife of Americium is 432.2 years

In which case I'm clearly wrong. Must be due to build up of dust and general reliability then.
Would also explain why they recommend replacement of optical after 10 years.
Ionization is more effective with flames but in my house I have a heat detector in the kitchen, not a smoke alarm.

They should also be interlinked with each other, and the heat detector in the kitchen (and possibly a carbon monoxide detector near the boiler or any solid fuel burning items)
