Here is a great trip planning in advance for 2018, which means some great prices. June is a great time to head to Calgary and explore the Rockies. It's 'shoulder' season so you get some great rates and it is less busy than say July or August. I went in June a couple of years back and many of the popular hiking routes were empty - a bonus, although there could still be snow in areas but that just makes it look even more amazing as you get the lakes melting too with the colours breaking through.
This trip leaves London on 4 June and the outgoing flight has a short stop in Toronto. As you arrive into Calgary late in the evening, you will make your own way into the town and then spend 2 nights in the city rather than paying for motorhome hire when you won't need it in Calgary. This avoids finding parking and navigating a city in a truck. You also aren't allowed to rent an RV after an international flight which makes sense. From 4-6 June you'll stay at the Travelodge in Calgary University area £120 - book on Amona - screen shot below.
On 8 June you'll collect the camper/motorhome/truck which looks amazing - toilet, shower, cooking facilities - all the details on the vehicle can be found https://www.cruisecanada.com/rent/our_vehicles/truck_camper.aspx - here is a picture. It's at least 2016 year so it's pretty much a brand new vehicle which I think is amazing!
and including in the price is amenity kit (for crockery etc), insurance (a must for Canada in my eyes, which is cheaper through the rental company rather than a third party) and 1000kms which is enough KMs for your journey through the Rockies (take your own sleeping bag/linen otherwise this is extra cost - you can also add extra kms). There are so many sites to park and you can be flexible with your itinerary. I'd suggest something like Canmere-Banff-Lake Louise-Icefields Parkway and Jasper. There is also the opportunity to head on side trips to say Yoho National Park if you want extra journeys to see, for example Emerald Lake. The spiral tunnel railway is also pretty amazing, seeing the long grain trains passing through the tunnels https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g1761683-d3333110-Reviews-Spiral_Tunnels-Yoho_National_Park_Kootenay_Rockies_British_Columbia.html
Whilst a campervan/motorhome may not appeal to everyone, Canada is a beautiful place to have the freedom of a motorhome rental and means you can cook and save on meal costs too. If you want to add a child - the truck/motorhome is the same price and does sleep 3.
Around May/June is also good for bear watching. The bears will have just woken up so you will have a higher chance of seeing them as they awake and look for food too - June is a great month to go.
*You will need to purchase a park pass which has been free for 2017 - I'm unsure of the cost for 2018, I can't remember how much I paid for one when I went but I sold it on Ebay afterwards and got over half my money back too*
There are lots of places to pull in and campsites too - the cost of these varies wildly depending on what facilities you want/need.

Yep, there is a different motorhome the same price, but I personally thought this was better and bigger. I guess it depends on what you are comparing it with, it's not going to be the size of a suite at the Hilton! The day of my wedding we both got dressed into wedding dresses and did our make up in a motorhome which we then drove around wearing wedding dresses, with a photographer in the back in Iceland and it was smaller than this truck XD

You have listed a deal for 2!! How is this a deal when you have to go with the Mrs?? ...and the dangerous grizzly roaming the wild! 2 grizzlies in one holiday will be too much for me!

It's the £120 for two nights - it's the Calgary Travelodge University area. You can change this if you want, but it's a good budget option as you arrive late on 4th and then it's just a base for 5th, to expore the city and recover from jetlag.

Great time to go. Just come back after 3 weeks using my free 150 parks pass. May/June is a great time to take in the wildlife and avoid the major tourist rush. Not going to lie though transat have some of the most uncomfortable planes I have ever been on!! I'm no photographer but the sights are stunning.

Lovely pics - I went end of May/June and as you say, the wildlife is stunning. We were in Alaska before Canada. We caught the last weekend of the skiing in Sunshine Village at the end of May too.
The bear pic on the deal is one I took around Banff - I think it's the same bear!!
Brown bear AKA Grizzly in first pic - black bear in second pic. Makes me want to go back!

Ha haa, the grizzly had an asbo collar on, just by the start of bow valley parkway (much better than staying on the main highway). The idiot in the car you can see in front actually got out of his car about 2 seconds after I took that photo and stood at the back of his car taking photos!!

Why don't you take the Mrs & park up somewhere you know there are plenty of hungry bears........then suggest she went for a walk while you sleep for a bit, hopefully she ain't so bad as to scare the bears off.
