If it was me I'd pay the £2 more and get the original game and all the DLC for £8.99 on steam. And then just mod it to look better. I thought Scholar of the First Sin was awful. But that's just my opinion.

Just out of curiosity, why is First Sin an awful version of this game?
Personally I'd always pay the extra £2 for a legitimate Steam Key rather than a grey market key from CD Keys.
A lot of gameplay for the price!

Having finished both versions I would say that both have pros and cons, I wouldn't say either is vastly superior but I personally prefer the SoTFS to the original with the DLC. There just seems to be a better flow to SoTFS, yes some parts are a little too easy but I think overall the game plays better as there are a lot less frustration inducing gank deaths.
I would also have thought that a key from CDKeys would unlock the game on Steam for you? I could be wrong there as I have never tried this.

OK thanks, and yh that's how it works. You buy the code and receive it through email and then redeem it on steam

Yes it will, but it's grey market. You can't know where it came from with CD Keys.

Why is that a problem? Never heard of grey market before...

Moreover, it's probably best not to bother with either version because Dark Souls 2 is just a fundamentally bad game in a great series. Your time and money would be better spent playing Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3.

Absolutely nothing wrong with CDKEYS - ordered loads from there, never had a problem.
Like someone said above, if you want Dark Souls 2 you're better off subscribing to Humble Monthly for one month. It'll cost you around the same price as the Steam version and you'll get another another 6-8 games thrown in.

For me. There are bits that become way too easy. Eg. The Skeleton fight.(only two bone wheel skeletons) And then bits that are just plain hard. For me the originals enemy placement was fine. the Iron Keep. It was fine. Not too easy not too hard. But they just decided to dump a load more enemies there which agro from such a long distance. Which makes it feel cheap. Also. The Bastille Key, which makes a boss easier to fight can be found too easily on Sotfs. It's just little things. Maybe it's because I pumped hundreds of hours into the original. I would have liked the option to just switch enemy placements back.

They get their keys from cheaper regions (like Eastern Europe) and then resell them in Europe.

Anyone know a good deal on dark souls on PC. Had it on my steam wishlist for a while now and it must be one of the only games not included in the steam summer sale.
