Just seen a couple of Angelcare AC601 monitors on the Amazon Warehouse deal (extra 20% off for Prime members) £69.99 new but currently have 1 open box -good for £49.08 (- 20% = £39.26) and 2 open box - very good for £50.80 (-20% = £40.64) cracking monitors that might be of help to someone. Credit goes to kestrelcampbell for posting the original warehouse deal.

Got the next model up from this (with LCD screen) and it is very good. All the Angelcare products I've had have been great.

Just be warned that if your baby sleeps soundly and doesn't move a lot - this monitors will go off....and....offf and offff until you go nuts.
Luckily I don't need a monitor for the kids anymore so I've been spared this type of nonsense.

Can honestly say I've never had that issue with both of my kids, just adjusted the sensitivity initially and it worked fine

Same, never had a false alarm in 2 years. Other then when we've forgotten to turn the sensor off before taking her out of the cot.

Although we have a Baby Sense 5 the tech is the same and gives real peace of mind. Can't recommend them enough. We put ours to the highest sensitivity and it picks up bubs breathe so even if as you say baby doens't move the chest movements do get detected.
