Tesco deal was £99 + £3.00 Express Delivery
Percentage increase on my link is calculated as ...
(114.99 - 102)/102 = 12.7% increase over the Tesco deal or an extra £12.99 !

I suggest you check yours.
Tesco = £99
One in your link =£114.99
Your suggestion is £15.99 more expensive than the Tesco version.
15.99 / 99 = 16.2 % more expensive than Tesco one.
Perfectly fine for light browsing and emails. No good for much more.

It will play Crysis.

some of these are upgradable, would have to look into it, it has to do with the wifi card using a pci express slot, remove that. get a bigger m2 storage drive, then use a small external usb wifi adapter for wireless. Some of these windows cloud laptops can just be upgraded easily, but ALOT have the HD memory soldered to main board...

The one I linked to can be upgraded to 8GB RAM and there is a slim possibility of installing an SSD or HDD with an extra SATA cable (cost around £15) - but I cannot confirm that.

You have no idea at all !
These little laptops are great for browsing and media playback - and they are completely silent (no fans) !
Yes, I agree the 32GB eMMC is a let down and will be a hassle - but at this price it's unavoidable.

The extra £13 or 12.7% (check your maths) is well worth it - better processor and 4GB RAM.
You'd be crazy to go for the Tesco Deal !

I'm typing this on a 2gb HP Stream 11.6" and it's fast enough for basic tasks and small enough for travelling.
Problem is the 32gb emmc HD.......it fills up with security updates within about 6 months, so if your buying one update the Win 10 version to the recent creators update as soon as possible.

Use disc cleanup, and cleanup system files. and next tab cleanup system restore and shadow copies. Use a fast SD to install to.

this was £99 for a new one 6 months ago!! Why pay the same price for refurb?? I ordered one and then cancelled it as I found that it takes a full sized SD card and the SD card sticks out making it useless!

Performance on these is ok to be fair, as long as you don't have more than about 3 browser tabs open its fine. I use my similar spec machine a lot for WFH via remote access, hook it up to a monitor and wireless keyboard and mouse, it's more than powerful enough to run the remote desktop and have iPlayer radio in the background and a couple of browser tabs, excel spreadsheets. Yes 32gb memory is low but after window install you should still have 10gb free, so you can't fill it with audio or video files no, but it's a good WFH machine, uses next to no electricity too...

Nobody should be buying a Windows machine with 32GB eMMC. It's non-upgradeable, performance is closer to an SD card, and automatic updates will swallow this up in less than a year.
Just fork out the extra for something decent or get a chromebook

You can put in an SD card if you need more storage. I'm sure additional apps can be installed on there if you specify the installation path.

Sorry but this is an ice cold terrible deal - folks just do not do their homework - a cursory glance through EBay turns up this much better deal ...
Anyone know if this is any good for watching movies or YouTube? Debating getting a little netbook to take on holiday or stick with the tablet

It'll be fine other than the small storage. The CPU is plenty fine for decoding video, I have a similar machine I use for this kind of task. Modern netbooks are so good, only moderate workloads are a problem - basic stuff like this is fine

Does anyone know if this type of cloud puter can be used using mobile broadband via a dongle. ie does it eat more data up than a conventional computer?
steve_bezerker to CookinBat
25 Jul 17#7
I would very much doubt it - Data is data and files moved or downloaded from the net are finite in data size depending on size and quality of files. Downloading a 30Mb video should be the same amount of data on whatever device you download it on, as long as you aren't accessing it through some sort of proxy or alternative routing, whereby an additional connection is required (although this would only use a tiny percentage normally).
To answer the first part of your question though - I have no idea if this is compatible with a mobile dongle, as long as the dongle supports USB and the netbook has a network adapter it's hard to see why not.

25 Jul 17#10
It'll be fine with a dongle and will use same amount of data as a regular 'puter as it is a regular one!
Just make sure to switch off automatic updates when you're not using WiFi as that'll kill your allowance.
Says on the listing "save 10% when spending over £100 in the ebay tesco outlet." Including the postage its over £100 does that make the total even better?
UPDATE
nope ignore that just tried and it don't let u take the 10% off. I guess the item cost not including postage should be over £100

Should be fine for running a web browser or iTunes, which is all netbooks like this are expected to do, really. Last I checked, Win10 had lower requirements than the previous couple of versions, anyway.
