I'd be sceptical signing up any additional non-EE packages with EE. I still remember other customers being charged for apps they didn't sign up for, had no info of being signed up to it and had real problems getting money back. Read a whole host of these online and in the national press.

Does anyone know how I can find out if I'm streaming music why the album after a few tracks stop's streaming whether connected to EE 4g max SIM data or my sky unlimited broadband. How can I prove if it's my connection disconnecting or if it's Apple music's servers that are the problem? Because I'm sure if I complain to Apple they will just blame my EE data or sky bb  it's so damm annoying if I'm showering etc and it stops! Pita :rage: I'm thinking is it because it's a free 6 months trial is the upload throttled by apple

Hi Labyrinth. You need to have Apple music add on active in my EE. Or text "music" to 150. With this active (can take a while) you open the Apple music app and follow the prompts to allow access to use the contacts and phone to verify that you are an EE customer.

Just to confirm, i have a new EE data sim on rolling monthly contract. The Apple Music deal wont work with this?
(i wish HUKD wouldnt delete the last character of every comment I submit. Removing the final period is usually no big deal, but in this case removing the question mark changes it from a question to a statement)

I took the trial, it was cancelled in less than 1 month, Apple Music is horrible, so many bugs. Greyed out songs anyone? It even managed to grey out quite a few song in my library that I own. I can't be bothered sorting that out. I just want it to work.

No, if you've had the free trial from EE before you would only be eligible for the free data. Worst that can happen is they say no but you'll still get the free data.

did it yesterday.... here are the steps:
1. sent text MUSIC to 150
2. text from EE: You're just a few steps away from six free months of Apple Music with the data on us! That means during the six months, when you stream or download music in the UK, we'll cover the cost of the data (just make sure you have some of your data allowance remaining). To get started, reply YES to this message to confirm you've got the bill payer's permission. You can cancel at any time. After six months, Apple Music costs just £9.99 a month.
If you're already an Apple Music member and you'd like six months' streaming for Apple Music on us, reply STREAM to this message. The Apple Music app is available on iOS & Android.
For more info, details about streaming and terms, including what information we use to personalise your service, visit ee.co.uk/app…sic
3. replied YES
4. text from EE:
Great, we'll add this to your account. When it's done, we'll text you a link to verify your six free months of Apple Music membership. Just click the link to get set up. It may take up to 24 hours to receive this message.
5. next text from EE: Your free 6 month Apple Music membership with streaming on us has begun, you just need to verify your account. Click itunes.apple.com/car…ier to verify.
6. logged into my EE app, and the addon apple music with free streaming is there.
7. clicked on the link from the last text message, it asked me to download the app and then once I owned the app, it verified my account. (need your EE SIM in your phone)
8. I was asked to create an Apple id, which I did. At the last stage it asked me to add a payment method, I chose "none". And then Apple music started working.
Note:
* I didn't have to provide my payment card details. If I don't cancel by 6 months, EE will anyway do carrier billing. In fact as per T&C they will anyway do that from next bill and give discount on the same bill.
* I checked and no data is being consumed from my mobile data allowance.
* If you don't have a current Apple music subscription, you DON'T need to send text STREAM to 150.
Hope this helps someone. :sunglasses:

No I haven't. I've not heard anything more from EE since the initial text. To be honest, without Chromecast it's not that interesting to me. I also HATE Apple and their closed ecosystems - it's not the basis on which the internet was developed. I can't be arsed to set up / revivify my AppleID either. All that aggravation just to save £10 per month vs my Google Play subscription. Mind you, Google Play app is a bit rubbish too. Might be time for me to move to Spotify...although I hear that's optimised for iOS and not so good on Android either.

Just checked a review of Apple music as I got the EE text too. I'm an Android user. According to the review, you can't use the Apple Music app to actually play the music. Surely that's not correct. Also, it doesn't cast to Chromecast.
