Bizarre. You are on a money saving site and stay with a company who are charging you too much compared to the competition because the competition 'may' increase the price at some stage in the future? Oookkaayy. You are the reason so many foreign companies can't wait to get their hands on UK companies lol. SIM Only deals are getting cheaper not more expensive....plus this is a 30 DAY CONTRACT so they will be wary of increasing the price given the fact customers can exit penalty-free within 30 days.

hookbeak to pookypony
25 Jul 171#8
When you've signed up you can set a cap (ie £5, £10) and if you go over your minutes, textx or data you can never be charged more extra than the cap - i've never gone over so don't know what happens if you try...
When you take out a plan you tell them what cap you want in place if you say £5 then if you exceed your calling plan your bill will not exceed £5 if you go over, the lowest you can take it out is £2 I think

Is it truth?
Plusnet do not suport short code text numbers. For those who do not know about short code text numbers your NHS, Energy company. Goverment , banks.etc. all use this system when contacting you and you cannot reply back to the text as plusnet have blocked replying to short code text numbers.

Part of the reason I left Life/Plusnet was whenever I got a fraud warning from my bank, I couldn't reply to confirm anything as it was a short code. Only happened 2-3 times over a year, but bloody annoying.
Anyway, when did 5GB for £10 become a good deal? I'm currently on Virgin on a 20GB rolling (and rollover) month contract for £15. More data than I need, but seems stupid to drop down to 5GB for only a fiver less.

I've been with EE most of my life even when they were called one2one years ago and I never had a major issue actually I had more discounts. And this depends on customer to customer and you will know that everybody complains about everything. Recently I moved to Virgin Mobile on a special deal and I was happy to move with them because they use EE's network.
EE's got the best network coverage unfortunately maybe not where you live or travel and this is the case with all networks.

Never found it a hassle switching mobile providers, but who said you'd have to do it every 30 days? You have a 30 day contract on this one, so if you aren't happy with price then you leave and go elsewhere and either sign up for the same 30 days or a 12/18/24 month contract, just because the contract here is 30 days doesn't mean you have to switch every 30 days...

Well said, most people aren't inclined to leave reviews when they get something that they pay for. In this scenario with telecom providers you're hardly going to leave a review to say WAHOO I got mobile signal i'm included in the 99% uk coverage! Also I even got the 4gb of data I was promised! It is probably the best deal out there for users like me who wan't a rolling month to month deal that isn't on 3's network and need say 500 plus mins and 2GB plus data.
I certainly don't need more than 5gb data. So paying 15 quid for 20gb data is good if you need the data. If you don't need the data paying 5 quid more just because it looks good value on paper is daft.
Idea is getting the network and bundle to cover you for as little as possible.
This is a brilliant deal for me.
Own my own new handset and with contracts changing all the time and possibly moving address then a month to month roller is better than 12 month sim only.

Plusnet does not support short code SMS, and it looks like it does not intend to support them in the near future (I believe they would need to pay EE for the privilege). If you currently require the use of short code SMS replies, do not switch/buy. I will be cancelling my contract (within the 14 day period) having learnt this information. It should be in big **** off letters on the website. I think the only other network to not support this is SKY. Very bizarre indeed.

I got 6gb plus unlimited min and text for £11.99 so was happy with that as not fussed about the 30 day rolling contract length and they gave me a 12 Month contract which is fine with me.

Hello, I am thinning to join your network but Is it truth that Plusnet do not support short code text numbers?

Do you have any limitation regarding to network and services comparing to EE?
Alex

We do not have any limitation comparing to EE.
Oh, and this:
https://community.plus.net/t5/Mobile/Plusnet-mobile-does-not-support-shortcodes-to-sms/m-p/1426113#M3416
My BT 12 months sim finishes in august and I could give a leaving date now.
Just going to canary islands first 2 weeks in September so that would be really useful
Just signed up with no problem at all.
Need to get on to them to get it refunded now! Might be worth checking your bank account to see if they have taken the money from your account too
EE offered me £10 month 4GB/unlimited min/text
EDIT - Just checked and it's taken out three lots of £10 for me. Sneaky %^$£
Those that got the "Session Timeout" message will find that their bank accounts have been charged.
So for each time you tried and failed, you will find that £10 has been deducted from you account.
If you ask Plusenet, they will say they do not know if the order has went through.
Just told them to cancel and refund my money.
Mine went through three times. The money is not so much the problem, as they said it won't be taken - just pending - what I don't like is the fact that 3 credit searches will show up on my history. Their advise? Call Experian. Brilliant. So, I have to pay a fee to clean up their mistake.
Oh and I've also jumped ship from Vermins 3g 1GB for £7 to Plusnets 4g 3.5gb for £8.50 and I'm very satisfied. Vermin only offered me 3gb of 4G data for £10 but wanted me to start a 12 Month contract. Needless to say I told them to GTF (in a polite way)
4gb and ultd txts & calls for £10 direct is a good deal if anyone is near their contract end date look to push for that.
If in doubt, delete the MMS settings from your phone - nobody uses them anyway.
I want the Virgin one but you need to be a customer, my dad has it but i dont want to pay for this through him. Is there a way to do this so that i use his account and the from then on its through me?
I asked if it was down to which card was used, which browser etc and they didn't know.
I personally failed using MS Edge and HSBC debit + MS Edge and Lloyds Mastercard
Might try with Chrome but really dont want all this hassle.
Private Message me your EE username and password and I'll look through your bills and tell you if you need that extra 1gb
Also this is on a 30 days contract
Also Kaspersky intermittently reporting the payment site as a phishing site.
Any one managing to but this today?
Does anyone know if ID mobile do?
I certainly don't need more than 5gb data. So paying 15 quid for 20gb data is good if you need the data. If you don't need the data paying 5 quid more just because it looks good value on paper is daft.
Idea is getting the network and bundle to cover you for as little as possible.
This is a brilliant deal for me.
Own my own new handset and with contracts changing all the time and possibly moving address then a month to month roller is better than 12 month sim only.
So to summarise, plusnet lost a customer through their inability to make their website work as I was pulling the trigger and spent three days trying to. They onbviously don't need my money...
GRrrrr... tried 4 times with 2 different cards. On 2 occasions it said payment not taken the other 2 it asked for payment card for £10 and then flashed the Bank verification bit and then session expired.
Will need to check with my bank if any money was taken. :disappointed:
