I've been chasing them since many months ago. So tempted. Heat!

Are these really that good? Feels like I would be crazy to spend that much on headphones.

Yes they are, they're superb. If you want wireless they are the top choice in my opinion, you quickly take the quality and the noise reduction for granted.

If you can't afford these, I can recommend the MDR-100ABNs. They're £170 at the moment on Amazon and are of similar design to the 1000X. Very robust (though this is my 2nd pair because the power button stopped working on the first), quality materials, incredibly comfy, excellent battery life, good BT range and stability, very good sound quality. I only have a few gripes, the main one being that the ANC isn't great, it seems to amplify wind noise and doesn't block out mid-frequency sounds (like voices), but does do a good job of blocking out low frequency rumbles and high frequency sounds. Otherwise it's minor stuff like the buttons can be a bit fiddly until you're really used to them and every time you press the ANC button or power button to check the battery (which doesn't automatically alert you when low by the way), a vocal message plays completely over the music e.g. "battery level HIGH". I don't know why it has to mute the music to play those messages.

Best sound quality noise cancelling headphone. Maybe only H9 can challenge it...

I love mine. Though I can do without the touch controls, they make the headphones fiddly to handle as you have to think about where you're positioning your fingers when you need to adjust the headphones.

Yes, Dixon at Heathrow, cost me £267 there last Saturday and I highly recommend these headphones. I was initially going to buy the Bose QC35 until I read many reviews and having tried them both opted for the Sony.
