I've been looking to upgrade from my trusty s6 for awhile - and have gone for this deal as the best I've seen recently!
This is for the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge on EE - with 5gb of data and unlimited texts and calls for £27.99 a month. It's £25 upfront but you can use the voucher VC15OFF to take it down to £10. You can also get decent quidco (mine tracked at £20).
In addition at the moment you can get a free Samsung Gear Fit 2 sports watch with purchases of an s7 or s7 edge - rrp £179.99. This offer is available with lots of retailers by redemption, so you may be able to find a better deal to suit you and still get it free!
Good deal. CEX pay £44 for the gear fit if you want to sell it on

Worth a lot more than that brand new on eBay and that's assuming CeX doesn't buy it as a grade C because of some stupid reason, like 'the box is dusty'.
The deal looks good to me, I was tempted by an S8 deal but wasn't going to keep the phone just needed the SIM.

Mine has just been delivered and it's fab! The gear fit 2 doesn't come with it you have to claim it afterwards. All the info is here http://www.samsung.com/uk/freefit2 - it says it will be confirmed within 30days and then delivered next day...
Worth saying you can also get the gear fit free with the s7 (not just the edge) so there may be slightly cheaper contracts available too - I just wanted the edge and thought the little bit more a month was worth it for a phone which is worth more in the long run.
And should have said- 24 month contract!

I've got the s7 edge and my partner has the s8+. We got them both as the same time as I refuse to pay so much for my phone.
There's very little difference and not worth ~£15 extra a month you have to pay. The s8 infinity screen is quite nice but only on the s8+ is it really noticeable - but it's BIG. The finger print scanner on the back is surprisingly intuitive to use and I like how it can be swiped to bring down the notification tray.
Other than that, when we've done side by side speed tests, there's very little difference.
It's personal preference - I don't want to pay flagship prices for flagship phones so I'm always a year behind.

This promotion isn't specific to mobiles.co.uk, it's a Samsung promotion although only available through selected retailers, mobiles.co.uk being one I assume as they are Dixons Carphone in disguise. Does anyone know if Affordablemobiles are in the promotion too, I don't know who they are or whether they appear on the participating retailers list.
So to clarify, is Affordablemobiles part of a larger group? They currently have S7 Edge for £25/month with 4gb.

I looked at that one too - but for me EE is better locally, and after the vouchers I included (in first post) it ended up the same price across the two years to go with EE and 5gb from mobiles.co.uk - and be sure of the free gear fit....
bargainjunkie
5 Jun 17#29
I was also waiting for this but gave up! spent ages going back and forth with o2 trying to get a decent deal to stay with them but the best they could offer me was pretty much this package but £37.99 a month... so I gave up and have switched to EE! Will be sad to lose my free coffees on O2 priority - but not enough to spend £240 more across the contract!!
dino123
5 Jun 171#30
If you want to keep enjoying free coffees then buy an O2 pay as you go sim then activate it on this phone with minimum top up. Now install O2 priority on this phone and get it working , after that go back to whatever sim you are using. Now keep enjoying your free coffee!
If you ever reset your phone to factory setting then repeat the process.
ChunkyKong
5 Jun 17#31
Yep that's the one. I worked out yours as (£27.99 * 24) + £25 = £696.76, minus the £15 voucher and £20 Quidco = £661.76.
The other is (£25 * 24) + £42.99 = £642.99, Quidco also do £40 off which leaves £602.99.
So ignoring the different networks, it's 1gb/month extra plus a Gear Fit2 for £58.77. Was just hoping I could do the Affordablemobiles on and get the free Gear Fit2, but looks unlikely.

Good deal, recently upgraded from s6 to s7 edge, went for 3 deal of free handset unlimited txt/calls and 30gb data at £32pm. very happy with the s7 edge seems quicker, better camera and MUCH better battery than the s6, get a full day out of it with watching videos playing games and general use, would recommend the handset to anyone, only bad point I would say is easy to slip out of your hand, but like most people just get a case from eBay for few quid for grip and protection.

5 Jun 171#41
I've got an S7 edge and a ZUK Z2.
I wanted the edge for Android pay to use with my amex but it isn't supported.
Samsung pay doesn't let you use Amex either so very disappointed considering you can use it in the states but just not here.
The screen is super bright and clear on the edge. The curved screen looks great too. I like the snap software where you can run two apps at once and the recording software for when you're playing games. The wireless charging is better than the USB-C charger on the ZUK as you just plonk it down and it's charging.
The camera is excellent on the edge too. The music seems on a par to the ZUK, probably because it's waterproofed. I think you can use the edge 30 minutes underwater iirc.
I don't know if it's just me but some games run faster/smoother/better on the ZUK like Marvel's Champions where there's some lag at times on the edge.
Software in general runs better on the edge and seems better optimised e.g. Facebook videos can stutter on ZUK but never on edge.
The ZUK charger is noticably faster even though it has a larger battery to fill, probably due to having QC 3.0.
In short I prefer many things about the ZUK, like the single key rather than 3 keys to deal with on the edge, the o/s menu (swipe up) I like too.
For £125 I'd say the ZUK gives you more bang for your buck if you just wanted to do a SIMO route, but if you need refinement and hassle free usage then go for the edge.

I thought (and I know I am well out of touch having been on 3's payg 123 sim for four years now) that in general most networks didn't I allow it, but the T&C's say it's "deducted from your data allowance," But I'm not sure if that's just a generic mobiles.co.uk guidance/summaries duh obvious terms thing to protect against idiots - i.e. duh, you use data it's deducted from your allowance or it that's directly from the network - it seems way to brief to be the networks t&C's.

Question - I bought a 2nd hand galaxy s7 edge off a friend (practically new) for £300 and then after about 2 weeks I dropped it and smashed the front glass screen and now the screen also flickers so I've to replace the LCD also! I am currently out of contract with o2 and can leave anytime I wish. my o2 contract is £20 per month and I get unlimited texts and minutes and 20gb data. Would I be best going for a deal such as this one? Or would I be cheaper to pay the price of getting my phone fixed?? Apparently it costs over £200 to fix! Or can I get it fixed through phone or house insurance for any cheaper?? any recommendations welcome. Thanks in advance

Is the best option to order a free sim from another network (say Giffgaff), request PAC from EE and give to Giffgaff, then request PAC from Giffgaff and give back to EE ?? Bit of a hassle. Has anyone here done a move like this from EE to EE and how long will it probably take to get old EE number on new EE phone? Thanks

I phoned EE to try and directly match this offer as im due an upgrade they said they could do the tariff but the phone is normally £450 but because im a loyal customer they will bring it down to £350 and they wanted to know if I wanted to go ahead, ernmm nope im ok ta.
anyway I mentioned the porting numbers but they said its not an option EE to EE
plewis00
7 Jun 171#68
Yes, go through Giff Gaff as you can request the PAC online immediately (one working day after port) without having to speak to someone. I stayed on Giff Gaff for a month with a Goodybag as it was actually decent value til I found the right deal. Probably 2-3 working days, as it takes 24hrs for the port to proceed and I think another day for it to 'set in' and be allowed to be released again.
plewis00
7 Jun 17#69
It will cost more to replace that as it's not 'LCD' it's AMOLED so it's bonded to the chassis. Not that anyone would be stupid enough to advocate insurance fraud but posting it online for all to see isn't a good idea... Would suggest that you accept you have broken the phone without insurance and it's going to cost you to fix.

I tried S8 in the store and didn't like it. Lack of physical home button feels like a downgrade to me (the reason I use Samsung phones), screen is way too tall for one-handed use, fingerprint scanner in awkward position on the back so you can't just unlock the phone on your desk to check it, you need to pick it up. I also kept touching sides of the screen accidentally launching things. It looks nice but that's about it.

Heat added for the deal.
Thanks
anyway I mentioned the porting numbers but they said its not an option EE to EE
I presume it will be but having been in an EE shop they're advertising plans with 3g data
I have the exact same pattern as the problem reported here on an S6 Edge. Just unlucky I guess, but no way to sort it.

when it asks you which retailer you purchased from, what did you put down? Mobiles.co.uk isn't an option for me. Closest is Mobiles Direct? Anyone else got this problem?
Can you post a list of the options please as Mobiles.co.uk isn't listed on the participating retailers list in the T&C:

Thanks
Also, how do I transfer my current number to this contract?
My S7 edge arrived on Sunday - loving it so far
I've looked on Amazon but there are very conflicting reviews, especially for a screen protector.
I always bought tempered glass protector but it seems it's no good for the edge...
I haven't put a screen protector on, I've never bothered on any phone, but I've never paid over £100 for a phone before.
I'd be interested in screen protector suggestions too. Also interested to know how much they are needed on a phone that has Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
EDIT: I called and they said it is single aim.
Checked this morning & still £25, decided to wait until this evening when i had more time and the deals gone. :disappointed:
That will teach me not to delay pulling the trigger!
Just a shame it's 3, after an awful experience with them a few years ago i swore i'd never touch them again.
Been with EE since & been trouble free with a good 4G reception despite being rural so hoping for same again.
Ordered a cheap monthly sim for now to switch PAC, but will keep looking.

I have to agree. I am currently with Three and want to leave because the signal is still a bit ropey like it was last time I was with them. Also, the customer service is a bit robotic.

I'd get I touch if I were you.
I got the email in italics below on the 30th June saying they'd check the claim in 30 days - surely I'd not expect to hear anything else until the 30th July?
