got enough with the Virgin's Superhub 2ac so I was looking for a replacement. somebody posted a deal for a TP-link archer C8 at Currys for around £40. got there, apparently, it is an online deal, though I could not find it but got the Netgear instead. amazon price is £97.55.

This is a router only, it doesn't have a modem for normal FTTC fibre (VDSL).

you put the superhub on modem only and connect the router to it and everything else to router.

You do, but that only makes it usable with Virgin, because (eg) BT routers do not have a modem mode.

Anyway to replace the Superhub once and for all?

Use it as a modem and let this be the router.

Can I use this if I have a fibre modem and separate router with Talk Talk? The modem is a bt infinity one as they hook into their lines.

Eh? As I said, BT routers (Home Hubs) do not have a modem mode.
