As a PC user Gold is worthless so these sales for gold members only are a little disappointing.

Much as I like playing the Forza series, Project Gotham 2 on the original Xbox was (and still is) the king of online racing.

Forza Horizon 3 is finally a price I want it, but only for gold? Can I go get a 1-2 day trial from somewhere, activate that, then buy FH3 for the sale price?
I'd use Bing rewards but I'm only half way there for a Xbox live gold trial, but I have enough to get some more off FH3

These sales that require xbox live are pathetic, its a sure way for them to get way less sales than they could have got, most people would see that you have to have xbox live and **** buying the game because of it( i am one of them), silly business sense from Microsoft,

Pretty sure Microsoft do a £1 for one month Gold trial for most accounts who are ex-gold. Worth looking through thier store just in case.

Is Forza still a DLC fest?
Forza 3 was great, Forza 4 was good too but started to become riddled with DLC (for the same cars the previous game had as standard), I know it got worse in 5 etc. The original horizon was ok, I imagine 3 is now a DLC fest also?

It's not really that bad, there's 2 big expansions in Blizzard Mountain and Hot Wheels but apart from that there's only a few car packs that aren't necessary

There are 6 or 7 DLC car packs, which each contain 6 cars (if I remember correctly).
The Blizzard Mountain and Hot Wheels expansions both contain most cars as well.
However, FH3 (and FM6) is massive anyway, great variety of cars in there already - there really isn't any need to buy any of the DLC cars.

Agreed (y) Never found a community or had such fun in a driving game - in fact any type of game - quite as much since then. Most of my Live friends now still date back to folks I met in PG2. Good times

This is the reason I'm excited about original Xbox backwards compatibility.

It really did feel like a community and i have played countless other games online over the years and nothing has really come close to that feeling.

True dat but I still prefer 3 overall. The visuals blew my mind when I got a 360 back in 08 :o

Yep I had a ton of fun with PGR 1, 2 and 3, but especially 2. The bikes in PGR4 kinda killed the series sadly.
